to be completely honest, I never got why they hated each other....

They were competing with SRD and Bullring for who could put out the better mods, while SRD went bananas and ban hammering anyone who even mentioned a DMR or other site's (other than Bullring's) DMR allowed full discussion and requests for many mods, including the SRD and BR mods.

That's why I only do BR and SRD stuff on SRD, because I'm not the type to troll.

SRD and BR mods tend to be low quality and FPS killers (see NWS 11 mod for example) DMR mods tend to balance quality and FPS.

No, but Denis (Rioux) pretty much gave up, he didn't want to be part of the rivalry that sprung up over mods (also, it seemed he wasn't receiving enough donations to keep the site up).

Well maybe this is for the better, the 2013 cars are coming up so hopefully this will turn into 1 great mod instead of 2 Decent mods.

Didn't DMR also have a beef with NR2k3 tracks for some reason? Or maybe' I'm thinking of someone else within the ol' Dakota Sim Mod's community?

Glad i got the Cup12s mod just before this happened, I didn't then the outcome would've been the other way around.

As far as the Cup mods go, you have one great mod that isn't the best with low-end machines, but very detailed (DMR) and one mod with okay models but is so annoying to paint on that it isn't worth it (BullRing). Kornography might be able to tell you how the DMR mod does online with a field of 14 or 15 cars on a low-end machine (assuming he uses that one for NR).

As far as I'm concerned, the SRD folks did a good job with the Nationwide mod, even though the models aren't the most accurate, they actually made them look nicer than the real cars so I'm not complaining! The DMR one looked pretty good, too.

Everything I've heard points to Rioux getting tired of the crap SRD pulls. I occasionally lurk over there, and the biggest instigators of the pointless feud don't do shit other than sit on their ass and yell at people for mentioning DMR.

Rest assured, here at EFR we will not censor your posts, offline leagues, or paints because you did something for a "rival" (who cares lol, you could post AARO/WRA/whatever cars on here, I don't care) of ours. The fact that SRD and DMR both did that was just idiotic.

And how much money was made from these competing mods?!
