Best TM Master Cup Paint Schemes Empty Best TM Master Cup Paint Schemes

Post by BWard Sun Mar 18, 2012 7:44 am

I found out that this used to be a thread on the old Efr forum, so I thought that it would be good to bring it back to the forum.

In addition to this, I want to give it the best shot I can to make everyone have a go at this. Within the next 7 days, I will want people posting their opinions of the best paint schemes that have run in actual TMMC Races between the start of the 2007 season, and the end of the 2011 season.

On the 25th March which is my birthday, I will put a thread up called 'Top 20 best TMMC Paint Schemes' as to which you can post up to a limit of 3 paint schemes that you think are the best.

Seriously, this is a very good idea considering that there have been so many amazing paint schemes ran in TMMC races in the past, but just 20 of Them will make it into the results. You may start now if you want to, but you still have enough time to give your own opinion.

I actually like this idea. That would take a lot of research though to really determine which paint schemes are the best.

You answered your own question. Also maybe it's because this familiar ground has been covered already? And you just posted it today and you're already complaining about it not being active enough for you. Uhhh... NCAA tourney going on among other things right now.

Rapid or astronomical replies (or lack thereof for that matter) are not always indicative of interest. The fictional sponsors thread is an ongoing work in progress and it didn't get that way overnight.

Are you saying that I just gotta leave it until this thread does start to get some posts? And that patience can pay off?

Patience will do you a world of good not only here but other places as well. Just dial it down a notch or 2 and you'll be fine.

The Name 73 car takes the cake by a longshot. No contest.

The best schemes are most likely going to be:

Made by Cynon
Made by Ceej
Made by Ernhrtfan (Scott)
Made by Snake Plissken
Made by Nascarboy
Made by Antknee
Made by Hokiegrad

(Sorry, I missed you)

Did I miss anyone?

After all, they have done the best and the most work on paint schemes, they have capabilities that I cannot match or even hope to match.

I would have voted for my own schemes (Decatur 2011) but then again, a majority of my schemes didn't make it in. My best scheme to date was probably Sarah Xavier's 65 DeviantArt Car for the Round of Decatur, sadly enough, the car got wrecked by Michael Dougly (another driver of mine) and then totaled by Kuzzy when he forgot where the brakes were. -.-

But seeing that it didn't make the cut, it's not included. Anything else I've made isn't even close to being the 'best of the rest'.

Best TM Master Cup Paint Schemes Empty Re: Best TM Master Cup Paint Schemes

Post by Cynon Mon Mar 19, 2012 6:55 pm

There are a few reasons why I'm opposed to listing best paintjobs by the painter;

1.) Some of them were collaborative efforts, like all of the Xenos cars barring Leonard's car.
2.) Some people have only painted one or two cars, such as kensethfan, conrail1990, wheremiat, hokiegrad, etc.

That being said, I'll list a few of my personal favorites. I'm not intentionally stroking my own (occasionally massive) ego. These aren't really in any order.

- Mike Whitmore's Name 73 car. That car took so damn long to make and I'm so unbelievably peeved that I lost the PSD...
- Ross Peterson's O'Kelvin Antifreeze car (the old #47 car).
- Scott Bates's 2011 car.
- Scott Bates's 2012 car.
- Kurt Plissken's Spark Boy car.
- Collin Evans's 2008 car/battering ram (sorry Ant, I had to drag that one up... Laughing).
- The standard Lynxe livery (it's run on so many cars...).
- Packer Carroll's Maiasoft livery.
- Alexis Rainsford's 2009/2010 paintjob. In particular, the base, which is available on EFR's download page! Very Happy
- The old Astra #7 car from 2007-2008.
- Adrien Devereux's/Scott Steudler's Haas Manufacturing livery.
- Kevin Monroe's Zing "Lyme Disease" car that ran Indy.
- Roderick's 2009 title-winning car.
- The Justin Robinson #177 car that qualified for Decatur in 2011. It didn't get a whole lot of screen time but it was pretty.
- The 2009 Lysander livery.
- The Budweiser paintjob that Team Saar USA used randomly last season.
- Zach Duff's Dyelated livery (and to date the only Chrome Illusioned TMMC car!)
- Todd Wodarczyk's #37 Ocean Point Charters car. Again, another lost PSD that upset me.
- Brian Sendack's #2 Red Bull Saar from I think 2008.
- Michael Sykes's Welsh-pride-mobile that won the Independent's Trophy.
- Allie Riggs's car from last season that probably got a total of a minute of screen-time!
- Dale Roswell's IBEW livery from 2007-2011.
- Tony Durbin's car from last year.
- A good deal of the M&J one-off cars that never made the field, such as Papp's #61 car from 2011.
- Kurt Plissken's YooHoo! car.
- Matt Smith's Mello Yello battering ram from 2007-2008.
- The Tolyatti livery from last year, complete with gold numbers.
- Kensethfan's NES Zelda car that made it a grand total of two corners at Daytona.

I like Leonid Roderick's Lance Car, though I think that was a Kit Car IIRC.

Any of Palmer Stiles Kodak cars. I never liked the Tremwell Kodak cars.

The Julian Alexander cars. I loved the Yellow Grills and Johnny Davis numbers. If I think of more I'll respond.
