Interesting. Under both of those, and F1 points, Jimmie Johnson is the currently leader, but under current NASCAR points, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the leader. That must mean only one thing.

2009 Sprint Cup.
New points system (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1), but we still get jimmiewinslol. 11 drivers are in both F1 and NASCAR Chase, Montoya didn't make it where as Kyle Busch did. c = F1 points chaser. Coke 600 did not get to 75%, so half points were given.

OK, so I took the 12 Chase drivers, reset their points to zero, and put them under the next-to-last Champ Car points system (20-16-14-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1, +1 point for pole, +1 point for leading the most laps).

In the case that a non-Chase driver leads the most laps in a race, the Chase driver who leads the most laps in a race is granted the bonus point. In the case that a non-Chase driver wins the pole, the bonus point for pole will NOT be awarded (a Chase driver has won the pole for all five races so far).
