2012 Budweiser Shootout
Since 1979, the Budweiser Shootout has gathered the best of the best drivers from the previous season (albeit not always the best), for a dash race at the illustrious Daytona International Speedway. This year, at least 24 drivers have a chance at making a statement for the upcoming NASCAR season. This year (once again), the eligibility rules have changed.
The eligibility rules stands as this:
1. Top 25 in Drivers Points
2. Past Budweiser Shootout Winner
3. Past Daytona 500/Coke Zero 400 Winner
What will we see on the evening of February 18th that we may never have seen before?
Eligibile Drivers to be posted soon.

Too bad Mark Martin can't race in the Shootout. Waltrip has to take the 55 for himself...

At least he'll easily figure out how to make a big wreck in the shootout.

If Waltrip draws the pole I'm not watching the first 10 laps of the Shootout.

Michael Waltrip is the perfect example of not wanting to admit you're past your prime. He'll keep people like Mark Martin from racing to further his own career, but will only further prove that he sucks.

Re: 2012 Budweiser Shootout
IMO, Budweiser Shootout has been rendered pointless now with all of the rule changes. It's now just another stupid race instead of something one could take pride in being eligible for/winning. Might as well throw in Norm Benning or the PRISM cars now so you can have the start-and-parks. No wait, that's Derrike Cope.

What a surprise! A wreck! And then rain! I know people will hate me for saying this, but, I liked tandem racing better.

Re: 2012 Budweiser Shootout
Mostly because it's less likely for 20 drivers to get involved in 1 wreck. IMO, I think the lack of driver-spotter communication was what caused the wreck, although I'll give Tony credit for owning up to it. You gotta feel really bad for AJ and Kurt.

Re: 2012 Budweiser Shootout
Speed channel. Are you kidding me?? Jimmie Johnson had TWO, not THREE wins. Jesus.
EDIT: Okay. Whoever's keeping track of these stats needs to be fired. Speed channel now just had Jeff Burton listed as the 2007 Coke Zero 400 winner. WTF???

If you added Racing driver after Waltrip, you would have been completely accurate on who would be starting on pole.

Re: 2012 Budweiser Shootout
Truex isn't that bad, he had some good runs last year, even finishing second at Bristol in August, so as much as I hate to say this about MWR, Truex might get something out of it.RealRacer4 wrote:navycook75 wrote:>yfw Waltrip gets pole
