Re: NFL Post-Season: Locked
Baltimore will win if the pass D shows up and Joe Flacco plays decent enough to hold the Texans in check
New York - Green Bay, in my opinion, is a much closer game.
New England has a better shot at beating Denver than Pittsburgh did; in fact, they should win handily
New Orleans SHOULD play tough in San Francisco. If they lose, it would be a surprise

SF 49ers-NO Saints game is on. SF defense created 3 turnovers against the Saints in the 1ST QUARTER! I know the 2nd quarter just started but I can't say I'm surprised their defense are such factor being how well they've played throughout the regular season, especially being they haven't allowed a single rushing TD in the 1st 14 games or so of the season.

I was hoping the Broncos would pull something out of their rear end against the Patriots but you just had to expect them to get blown away, as much as I hate the Patriots. If it wasn't for that 49ers-Saints game, it would've been a boring night for me. Can't wait to see what the next 2 games will be like tomorrow. Go Giants!!

Ravens-Texans are at halftime. I missed out most of the 1st half since I've been helping out my race team. Looks like another close game here.

HOW ABOUT THEM GIANTS?!?!?!?! As happy as I am seeing the Giants win, you can't take away the fact that those dropped passes from the Packers are what killed them. One word to say to the Packers: CHOKE!
Man! Awesome weekend of football games (except for the Broncos-Patriots game). These 2 conference championship games should be something next week. Go Giants!!!

Or a Giants vs Ravens rematch. And we pretty much all know how that ended. Either way, it's going to be a legitimate match up no matter which 2 teams reach the Super Bowl.day500champ1 wrote:Am I the only one that senses a Giants vs Patriots rematch?

Re: NFL Post-Season: Locked
It'll be Patriots - 49ers for one reason:
Officials.
I have never seen one team get as many calls their way as the Patriots, and I have never seen one team get as many calls against them as the Giants.
If by some miracle there are competent officials this week, I'd LIKE to see Ravens - Giants for the Super Bowl because that would honestly be the best game. Two hard-hitting defenses with completely different offensive styles. It'd be a better show than the Tom Brady pass attack

Ever see a Steelers game?! Just watch the Superbowls versus the Seahawks and Cardinals-- and that's not counting the last game against the Broncos that went to OT.

Oh trust me, the Steelers are RIGHT up there (in fact, the Super Bowl in 2006 was the start of my hatred for them), but the Patriots get so much more in their favor. I'm half-expecting the refs to give Tom Brady flags to throw when he thinks he got hit late

Ravens got screwed in '09 when playing the Patriots during the regular season when that exact thing happened. In the post-season, the Patriots got what they deserved.

Well, tomorrow's Conference Championship week. Ravens and Patriots on CBS at 3 PM Eastern time. Giants and 49ers on FOX at 6:30 PM. I'd like to see the Ravens kick the Patriots' rear-ends but I have a feeling the Patriots will win this one. The Giants-49ers game should be REALLY close and exciting, and hopefully, my Giants will come up top victorious.

Don't worry, Elite Eli will save this evening by beating the 49ers. Then, he will lead the Giants to the promised land for the second time, once again over the hated Patriots.

Not for nothing, but that kick wouldn't have mattered if Lee Evans paid attention to securing the ball in the end zone

Or John Harbaugh making his offense go for 4th & 1 when the field goal kicker could've kicked it outside 50 yards, but considering what happened in the end, it probably wouldn't have made a difference.

Seeing the end of the game makes me think the 4th and 1 was a much safer call

I feel bad for the Ravens and awful for Cundiff... poor guy. You make it and you are loved, you miss it and you are hated. I was pulling for the 49ers... but I knew the Giants would be tough for them to beat....in the end though, I've got to give credit to all four teams for playing their hearts out and allowing us to witness some spectacular games. The victories were well deserved and the losses were heartbreaking.
Looking forward to the Patriots vs Giants Super Bowl rematch from 4 years ago.... should be a good one.

Did I call this or did I call this? Anyway, should be a great game in Indy.

yep, the entire game hinges on one kick...but it shouldn't. the rest of the team didn't do their jobs, i hate it when the kicker gets the blame for losing a game.

This. The fact that Al Del Greco is still blamed for the Titans losing that Division Playoff game to the Ravens in January '01 when the Titans had the #1 seed is ridiculous. They were in the red zone God knows how many times in that game, and couldn't find the end zone to save their lives, yet Del Greco gets the blame for missing a lot of field goals, one of which was blocked and returned for a TD. Still feel sorry for him to this day.

My thoughts on the NFC's Quarterback plans for the Pro Bowl:
Also, my Super Bowl predictions:
As much as I hate the AFC, Patriots beat Giants 27-24.

Re: NFL Post-Season: Locked
Super Bowl prediction time!!
Ok, first I have to say that both the NFC and AFC games came down to mistakes. In Ravens vs Pats game, if the receiver holds the ball tighter to his body, we're talking about the Ravens in the playoffs. In the 49's vs Giants game, same thing.
Second, this game is not going to be a blow out. But, teams have good offenses so I expect to see a good amount of points but not a major score.
Third, I expect at least 3 "major" plays whether or not they work for the team attempting it.
My prediction:
Giants: 23
Patriots: 27
Eli tries to get down field at the end, but ends up throwing an interception with 0:30 seconds to go in the 4th.

*cough cough* Super Bowl 42 and this year's regular season game with Giants-Patriots *cough*
Are you guys serious? If you guys have denied the Giants in those 2 previous games, you're asking yourselves to get flamed a 3rd time.
