Racing Video/Picture Thread
Any random/interesting/funny videos/pictures that's found somewhere online or in person can be posted here. Kind of like the random discussion thread in the whirlpool section except it's all racing. The whole point of this thread is so instead of having a million separate threads of any racing video found that might be considered worth sharing, you can simply have it all in one thread just to keep things more organized.

Why can't ESPN/Speed Channel cover random crap like this back in the day? I know Versus (soon to be NBC Sports Network) does some of the regional broadcast races but I'm afraid Versus may get corrupted like FOX did to Speed.

Re: Racing Video/Picture Thread
Figured I'd post some Circuit of the Americas pictures, since the forum has a surprising lack of them
Ordinary map of the track
Another map, this time giving a good view of the elevation change
3D render of the completed track
Construction work on the track in progress
Sorry if they're a bit large, they were the smallest good quality images I could find.
EDIT: Also, looks like someone had a bit of early testing.

That would be David Coulthard, not Vettel, or Webber, and is an older version of the Red Bull car.
And the Le Mans hauler is epic.

There's a video of him driving there, too. You haven't lived until you've seen an F1 do donuts in the dirt.

I got a bit bored and decided to do captions. It's my first time doing this so they might not turn out to be as funny as others are. I hope you like them.

Holy crap, its Dave Despain. Gosh, how much things have changed
Might as well contribute and to start, I know I can't be the only one that wants to see this happen again:

The fact that the truck series hasn't raced on a road course in over a decade, let alone over a year, should be considered a crime.

I really wish Tim Richmond was still alive. If I was around to see him race live, he would've been considered my all-time favorite driver.

There's nothing in the rulebook that says you had to see him race for him to be your favorite.

That is true. Just the way he drove the crap out of the cars was incredible. And his personality was awesome too.
Now, of course I'm dreaming, but which two drivers would you think would win? Ayrton Senna or Tim Richmond? I'm curious to hear what people think of this.

He would always have the rarest videos out of everyone. Aside from the fatal crashes, I liked his videos, although it was a long time ago.

You can say that this also applies to the Balls of Steel thread in the Whirlpool section. The fun starts at 1:51. Me and my friends one day were watching wingless sprints highlights video. And man, this guy can drive.

Still fascinates me how he kept the lead, let alone keeping the car under control. Here's a pass through the grass/dirt for ya.
And for those who wondered what REALLY happened during the Indy Gold Coast wreck start back in '02, you're in for a surprise. One of the scariest racing home videos you'll probably find on YouTube.

That wreck makes "the big one" look like a fender bender. Holy crap...who was the moron who went through there without touching the brakes?

Was he one of the guys that went upside down in the crash? I just watched the tv footage of it on YouTube but I couldn't really tell where he was in the crash.
Re: Racing Video/Picture Thread
Patrick Carpentier was the one who flipped in the air, Tora Takagi and Jimmy Vasser were the ones who got upside down.

Re: Racing Video/Picture Thread
If you watch the sky cam replay, Tora Takagi (red, white car) goes flying thanks to the momentum of Mario's ARCA-braking skills and Tora's car hits the top of Adrian's car, which is when he gets injured at that moment.

Yeah I just managed to point out in another replay with the same angle where he got injured.

Saw this on facebook today. Never, in my life, have I seen a legends car look as bad as this. The driver WALKED AWAY from this accident. There was a driver that had a roof cam and the wreck happened right in front of the driver and will have a video of the wreck soon.
