Rick Forest Racing avoids carnage, brings home another top 15 finish.
Rick Forest was behind the wheel this week, and put the car mid pack in the 24th position. Despite a near disaster early in the race, the team netted a solid result when many other of their rivals fell to the wayside.
"We knew we were far from the fastest car here today, but everyone knows that when you have drivers of mixed experience on a big speedway, things can get ugly quick, so staying out of danger was priority #1. We were very lucky to save it when Meghan Gallagher blew up and tracked fluid down onto the track, as that could have written off a race car real quick." stated the owner-driver after the race.

Power Surge America had 2 time former champion Rip Tyler take the pole for the FARC Lowe Dollar Series Patriot Cola Star Spangled Flavor 76 at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. PSA had both it's cars finish in the Top 10 - Top 6 actually - as Tyler brought it home in 2nd and teammate Skeeter Farnsworth crossed the line in 6th place.
"Wow! That felt good!" said an exuberant Tyler. "We have struggled so far up till now this season. We didn't win but I think we may have this thing finally pointed in the right direction!"
Both Tyler and Farnsworth led laps, but it was the #98 Kanako of Maro Adachi edging out Tyler by the scant margin of 14 hundredths of a second.
Tyler had had a few decent efforts thus far this season but has seen mechanical gremlins and other driver's wrecks that have contributed to his slow start. In fact, Tyler didn't even complete an event until race 7!
"I don't get it! I've won on dirt and I've won on pavement. Hell! I've even won on ice. I've won on all types of tracks but if f I didn't know I was a 2 time champion I'd be wondering how I even have a ride right now! It's taken me a while to get the hang of these cars. They're so much different than what I drove in the AmeriCar series," Tyler confessed. "That's not an excuse, just a statement of fact. I'm getting comfortable so I hope that spells bad news for my competition!"
Tyler Takes Pole, Finishes 2nd, But Farnsworth Garnered the Buzz at Fort Worth
When Rip Tyler grabbed a surprising pole position at the Patriot Cola Star Spangled Flavor 76, Skeeter Farnsworth was an afterthought. Farnsworth had an abysmal qualifying effort which had him mired back in 28th place. But some timely wreck avoidance and an early pit gaffe from race officials had Farnsworth rocket to the font in a hurry.
"Shucks, I don't know if'n it was skill or it wuza bita luck- I ain't too scientifical 'bout it- but I managed get my #24 Buzzaway Lycoia car up front pretty darn quick today," Farnsworth stated. "I'm justa good ol' boy from Bug Tussle, Mizzoura. Glad that we're-a gettin' er' a goin' real good-- afore our season is over. I'ma hoping we'rea gonna be able to keep this here momentum a goin' for tha resta da season."
Farnsworth finished in 6th and improvement of 22 spots. Even though Rip Tyler is a 2 time champion, it is Farnsworth sitting in 14th in the overall points standings while Tyler is in 18th.
When a reporter asked him what he attributed to his success, Farnsworth replied, "Well ma'am, I reckon it's cuz I'm jus' too yung 'n' dum to know any better. That's the plain 'n' simple of it."
"I'ma justa hopin' we'rea doin' Buzzaway 'n' all our sponsors 'n' tha PSA team right proud," Farnsworth concluded.

Kind of shocked that Splison wasn't penalized by that move, but at the same time I felt like Griffith was responsible by pulling back in front of the 41 car.
