NASCAR at Kansas

Cup entries: http://www.jayski.com/stats/2017/pdfs/11kan2017entry.pdf
CWS entries: http://www.jayski.com/cts/next/2017/pdfs/cts_04kansas2017entrylist.pdf

A rare off-week for the Xfinity Series, but at least we get the Trucks back. Friday night/Saturday night shows this week, so that we can all celebrate Mom on Sunday.

31 truck entries, which means someone's going home disappointed. Four trucks don't have drivers listed (1, 44, 50, 63); I'm sure we'll know more later on in the week.

A full field for the Truck Series is 32, so unless at least two entries get added, there will not be any DNQ's.

Jeez. For some reason I keep thinking it's 30. Old Guy Syndrome strikes again, I guess.

Ryan Blaney won the pole for tomorrow's Cup race. Very Happy

Ben Rhodes was leading the truck race but had an engine expired. Feel for him.

Giant accident in the final stage of the race involving Danica Patrick, Aric Almirola and Joey Logano. Danica and Joey are okay but Almirola has had to be cut out of the car.

Really hope Aric is alright. He was apparently awake and alert so that's good.

Man. Really wanted Blaney to win it, but Truex will do.

A good, yet crazy race overall, IMO.

That was actually a pretty good race. Hope the all star race next week isn't shit.

Reject of the race goes to whatever that dale jr Mountain Dew commercial was.

Almirola suffered a compression fracture to his T5 vertebrae in the crash last night, which is centered in the middle of his back.

He is out of the hospital, though.

A T5 Compression fracture to be exact. So he might be out for the best part of 3-4 months at least.

Hamlin had a similar injury at Fontana a couple years ago, and he missed basically 6 weeks excluding the laps he ran at Talladega.

It's likely Aric will be out 6 weeks and his replacement will be likely to be Casey Mears
