Tony Kanaan's struggles to find a ride for next year - this is troublesome

He didn't just win the Indy 500, he was carried to the throne by an adoring crowd in easily the most popular win of the IndyCar season, maybe the last decade.

So, why can't TK find a ride?

I should say a ride that doesn't require him to bring money.

Because pretty much everyone but the Target Ganassi drivers and whoever drives for Panther are in the same situation. It's no different to the way Champ Car was after 2003.

Everything is too expensive at the moment.

It really defeats what Will Buxton said about IndyCar being the place that GP2 and World Series of Renault graduates should go to because of all the "ride-buying" (don't they know Alonso wouldn't have a seat at Ferrari if it weren't for Santander?) in F1.

GP2 and WSR are filled with pay drivers anyway, all of them could afford an IndyCar seat. Could they afford an F1 seat? No.

Here's hoping he's more Tony Stewart than Dario Franchitti.

TK's 38, he's going to be more like Villeneuve and less like Carpentier.

I honestly thought he was going to retire at the end of this year. He has said before that he would retire if he ever won the Indy 500, which of course he has earlier this year.

Didn't see this coming, but JGR equipment will help him.

There's a difference between JGR equipement & what Dario got with Chip. Before ths year, Ganassi has had been bad

No. It's a Robin Miller speculation story. The last story like this Robin Miller did was about Sarah Fisher's struggles to get an engine in 2012. She got it 7 days later.

After re-reading it, I think he's not-so-silently pleading with teams to take TK for less and for sponsors to step up to fund an IndyCar ride.
