Wow. A sad day indeed. This definitely caught me off guard. I wouldn't think Dick Trickle's life would end the way it did. R.I.P. Dick Trickle.

This took me by surprise, he was never the type of character you'd expect to end his own life. Aside from his insane cigarette habits. It's a shame it had to end this way.

Rumors are he had some kind of serious illness. That's not too far fetched, I just heard him do a live interview about a week ago, and his voice sounded weak, and frail. Almost want to cry cause of how sad this sounds. RIP.

Last of a long-gone breed. We'll never see a 48-year-old Sprint Cup ROTY again. Damn shame he never won a Cup race.

I mostly remember him driving the Heilig-Meyers car.

My dad has told stories of when Trickle would sometimes come to the Norway Speedway when my dad was a kid, and drivers from all around would enter the race to try to beat him. R.I.P. Dick Trickle Crying or Very sad

I remember when I was a kid we drove past his Busch Series car (it was a showcar), and I actually got to sit in the drivers seat. (actually have a picture of it lying around somewere)

I also drove his Busch car in the GOMA Grand National series.

RIP Dick Trickle

There's been some updates that have been announced today.

- In an interview with Trickle's brother Chuck, it was confirmed that he had been in failing health. Dick was having severe chest pains, and after multiple doctors visits, nothing could be found wrong with him. The doctors basically could not do anything for him.

- The 911 call Dick Trickle placed has been released, and it is quite haunting. Trickle tells the operator where the body will be at, the cause of death, and that he is going to be the dead body, and he says nothing else.

- Trickle was found at Forest Lawn Cemetery in North Carolina, and family members have confirmed that he did have family members buried at the cemetery. Trickle's oldest granddaughter, who died in a car crash 12 years ago, is presumed to be who he was there to see.
