Delgado Bemoans Cardillo's Bad Luck, Vows Changes
Over the past few weeks, the former MRD Motorsports, now called Tom Delgado Racing...has not had much to smile about. They didn't get anything new to smile about today at Milwaukee, as Marco Cardillo had to pit with 3 laps to go and fell out of the top 10. Afterwards, Tom Delgado bemoaned his driver's constant bad luck and vowed to make wholesale changes within the organization to try and change the #77 team's fortunes.
"We've had a rough few weeks, and this isn't helping us. Sponsors are leaving us and it's no fault of Marco's. We need to right the ship and fast, and I promise everyone associated with Tom Delgado Racing that we will find a way to turn this thing around and start finishing off these good runs we've had" Delgado said on behalf of his driver, who refused to talk to anyone after the race.
- Spoiler:
- Contrary to what I had probably said, this actually took place in July-ish, so I think it would still be MRD

More Jr. finishes 12th; plans to stay with M&D for '13 season
Michael More Jr. got a chance to show off his #156 HP Engineparts sponsored Lycoia during race #2 of the Governor's Cup weekend in Milwaukee. More Jr. started 11th and lead 16 laps before fading late and finishing 12th.
After More Jr. talked about Jeremy Wilhelm joining M&D next season as well as his plans for 2013.
"Well, I think Jeremy [Wilhelm] will be a good addition for the team. I had a lot of fun racing with him today and I think he would fit in here well. I definitely want to return to this team next year. This is a good group of guys and we are continuing to improve each week."
Jim More, who co-owns M&D with his TM Lights driver Ike Durbin, stated that he is working out a deal to resign Michael for 2013. He also expressed interest in talking with Durbin about adding a 3rd car for current rookie Ryan Gregory.

- CJR gets mixed results at Milwaukee
Wagner: "We were at best having a medicore run today so the turn 3&4 incident didn't really take away much. My Spotter was telling me three-wide and right as he starts saying four-wide, I just got hit and bounced into the car on the inside. I didn't even think it was possible to get four wide at this track, but thats just the craziness of short track racing."
Shimoda: "Today was one of my best runs of the season I think, I actually like the track alot better then I thought I would. I right there with the leaders but traffic just stalled me and then the car just got tight and would not go like it did at the beginning so I couldn't much afterwards. Not the finished I hoped for but alot better then I expected."
Mayland: "Well, that was interesting. Didn't really have the car to get the leaders today, hell it wasn't even a top 5 car. I just kept it straight and tryed to stay out of trouble, sure enough there were some situation that got ugly real quick and I just tryed to dodge them as much as possible. Great top 10 for us today."

- Big Mac Racing Celebrates Near Perfect Day at Milwaukee
Big Mac Racing had two drivers on the podium today, and both of them had a great opportunity to win. However, after Jacob Mac had to dive to avoid a wreck, he handed the race over to his teammate Sara Gallagher. We intereviewed both of the drivers after the celebrations and emotions calmed down.
Sara Gallagher: I am so excited about this win! This is my first win in America in the big leagues. I can't thank my team enough for the opportunity to drive in the RROL. I haven't done as well as I should have so far this year, especially in qualifying. The team never gave up and gave me an awesome race car today. This was really Jacob's race, but I know he'll get one soon the way he has ran at times this year. I dedicate this win to my sister Meghan, who is on the route to a speedy recovery from her accident in Formula Overdrive.
Jacob Mac: While I am definitely not happy about the circumstances that it happened, I am thrilled that my teammate got the win today. She has worked really hard this year through all her hardships to finally get one of these. Great to see her win. I am trying my best to shake off the anger and disappointment from the two cars who caused me not to win. I know it's the end of the race, but they were driving like boneheads. All in all though, great day for Dad's team.
Btw, I like the new intro a lot.

Johnson scores first win for Unit 11
Gerald Johnson may not have been up in the top 5 most of the race, but was in the right place at the right time to snatch the win. Playing the fuel mileage game Gerald was able to hold on til the finish.

Quick update, Clairmont video is finished, I tried uploading it yesterday at my cousins, but his internet sucks and would have taken about a half a day, and I didn't have that time. I'll be uploading it tomorrow, and the next race will be up between this coming Friday and Sunday. I plan on doing a race a week to get the season done around the first or second week of January.

- Spoiler:
- M&D Motorsports puts both cars in the top 5; More Jr. signs contact to remain with M&D through 2014
M&D Motorsports in just their 7th race as a team ended race #1 of the Clairmont weekend with both their cars in the top 5. Ryan Gregory, the rookie, ended up 2nd in the 86 while Michael More Jr. ended the day 5th, his 2nd top 5 of the year.
Upon exiting the car, Michael had a short conversion with his uncle and part-owner of M&D, Jim More. After which, Jim handed Michael a piece of paper and the two signed it. It was later confirmed that it was a contract extension that will keep Michael at M&D through 2014.
Re: NRC is now Mention Only
- Spoiler:
- CJR has terrible luck at Clairmont
At a track considered a strong point and a huge chance for all three drivers to show their road racing skill, none were able to get the strong finish they were hoping for. In Twin 1, Buetch Mayland was making his way through the field until the headers on the engine ended his day while Elena Wagner struggled to get to the front and never got into the top 10. In Twin 2, Matt Shimoda was making charge through the field until two cars got together and he was caught up in the incident, ending his good run. "We had this race in particular circled on the calender, I felt because of all the testing we done and with especially Shimoda's background in Road racing that we could have a chance to move up the pack, but the track seems very hard on engines as other cars have showed" said Camyron Jackson. "We'll just go on to the next race and hope for better results."

Salem Write-Up
Twin 1
Collin Evans scored the pole for twin number one. Rest of the top five: 2) 12 - Arikovski 3) 290 - James 4) 96 - Neyman 5) 34 - Zander
The Twin 2 winner from Clairmont, Scott Washington, qualified, and therefore started, last. Along side was his teammate Scott Jonathan.
At the end of the first lap there would be a stack up that sent John Bracchi into the inside wall. He continued, and no caution came out.
Dan Foray, who won the Twin 1 race at Clairmont, was backing up his win with a solid top ten early, runnning seventh.
Caution 1: Lap 5 Ryan Gregory, coming off his best career finish at Clairmont, slapped the wall and was hit by Scott Washington, who was coming off of a win at Clairmont. Both would retire from the race.
Gary Edwards, who was expected to run very well, especially after his podium finish at Clairmont, was running at the back of the pack. He was outside the top 20 early on.
After a few laps, the field began to spread out for a while, and for the most part ran single file. Evans continued to lead.
Jeremy Wilhelm in the 31 scored his best career finish and only top ten to date at Clairmont, finishing eighth. He was running seventh at this point, moving by Dan Foray for the position.
On lap 39, Elena Wagner broke down on the race track and needed assistance to get back to pit road. Oddly enough, the problem was not terminal, and she continued.
Caution 2 - Lap 40 After both cars scored top fives for at Clairmont, M&D Motorsports would have both cars be taken out of the race before halfway this week. The incident started when Angus Black hit the wall and James Proctor, who was commited to the high lane came plowing in and hit the 24. They began spinning down the track, and Michael More, Jr. and John Wargle had nowhere to go and were collected. All four cars would retire from the race.
Jerry Richson and Sara Crims both made stops one lap after the restart, after leading the field to the green. Billy Ray-Smith Thompson in the 106 inherited the lead.
Jess Zander spun Justin Neyman in the back. The caution didn't come out, since this was near the back of the pack. The caution would come out one lap later though.
Caution 3 - Lap 49 Karma strikes when Jess Zander and Aric Arikovski make contact and the result is Zander spinning into the wall. She would retire from the incident.
Top five on the restart: 1) 106 - Thompson 2) 64 - Azure 3) 45 - Halks 4) 76 - Farr 5) 8 - Jonathan
After the restart, Wade Richson blew past the leaders, proving he would have had a car capable of leading had he not had to pit after an earlier restart. He had the quickest car on the track much of the rest of the race.
The field would again become spread out in the latter part of the race.
Gary Edwards was still slow, and not really improving, running 18th, the last car on the lead lap.
No one could touch Thompson for the win though, and he would take the checkered flag.
Twin 1 Results
Twin 2
Thomas Franklin was on pole for the second twin. 2) 65 - Wade 3) 47 - Jones 4) 291 - Hill 5) 28 - LaVerne
Greg Phillips's day would be over before the start of the race, with an engine failure before the start. His teammate Wade, who started on outside pole, would also suffer a terminal problem just ten laps in, while running second.
The field quickly went into fun spread out single file racing. Yaaaaaay...
Debris Caution - Lap 27 Yeah. There was stuff on the track.
Iris Mellado led a group of cars to the restart, none of which made a pit stop under caution like the leaders. They would all pit a lap after, making me think they thought they wouldn't be able to make it on fuel.
Allison Miller in the 79 would take the lead from this. 2) 52 - Mac 3) 14 - Johnson 4) 44 - Whitt 5) 116 - Rogers
Alexander Sybilton and James Proctor, second and fourth in points, were both running at the back of the pack, outside the top twenty. Both were having a fairly bad race.
The rest of the race would be pretty lackluster. The field once again got spread out, and not much else happened throughout the race.
With about 20 to go though, Jacob Mac, who had been running top five, encountered problems and would pit to resolve them. He ended up six laps down at the finish.
Miller dominated the rest of the race and took her first win. An interesting fact. 8 races = 16 twins = 16 winners. There has yet to be a repeat winner this season...I think

(OOC: I'm going to enjoy putting the points together this race. Just sayin'. )
"How 'Bout That?!": Smith-Thompson earns first RROL victory:
Many pundits figured that the youngest member of the Matthews Motorsports racing family would be its first race winner.
They were way off.
Billy Ray Smith-Thompson, the elder statesman of the Matthews stable at 40, became the team's first race winner of 2012 in dominating fashion, leading 58 laps.
The win was also the first for the Matthews team chassis, the M12 T-Type.
"How 'bout that?" a jubilant Smith-Thompson said from Victory Lane. "I gotta thank the guys at the shop for giving me such a fast hot rod. This is freakin' awesome! Glad you got to talk to me."

A: Well the team focuses a lot on Clairmont. Rumor has it they are adding another road course but for now many teams went into Clairmont unprepared. We did, and I was able to make the most of that. It was a great day for me and for PDR as a team.
Q: What other race is at the top of your win list.
A: Tampa. I grew up in Tampa and it would be a dream come true to win there.
Q: Who do you enjoy racing the most
A: That's a difficult question. You have guys like Gary Edwards, true veterans and great role models for us rookies, and drivers such as myself, Ryan Wade, Jess Zander, who are up and coming. Gary would be at the top of the list. Ryan and I have had some pretty good battles, including in our Pre RROL days. Jacob Mac and Sara Gallagher are also fun to race with.
Q: Does being one of a few African Americans in racing affect you?
A: It does. Sometimes people don't expect someone of my background to be in racing. But that's face it: There was a time when there weren't many black ballplayers, until Josh Gibson and Jackie Robinson. I think that Robinson is probably one of my heroes because it challenged peoples ideas. My racing hero, as far as stock cars by the way is probably Leonid Roderick or maybe Steve Marshall. I was always a fan of both of them.
Q: Who are you close to off the track in racing?
A: I've become pretty good friends with Thomas Franklin off the track. The RROL has a lot of great guys and ladies in it. I try to stay friendly off the track with most everybody, but I give it my all on the track. Or at least I try to.
Q: Thank You for your time, Sir.
A: Your very welcome.
Q: It's been an amazing couple of weeks hasn't it?
A: Heck yeah it has. Winning Clairmont is something I'll never forget.

(OOC: This was written after Round 9)
Officials Announce Series Name Change for 2013 Season
For the third time in three years, the RROL Elite Series will undergo a named change, officials announced. In 2010, the league was called the RROL Elite Series, then in 2011 the VSCC, then changed back to the RROL for this season. However, officials announced in a press conference that the league would have a new name in 2013. The topic of the series name changing had been heavily debated for months, and the issue had reportedly been decided weeks ago, however was never made public due to not having a replacement at the time. Then, at the press conference, it was announced that the league would be called the National Racing Championship starting in 2013. Officials stated that the reason for this change in the series identity, was that they wanted to "write their own chapter racing book," and this was the first step.

Re: NRC is now Mention Only
- Spoiler:
- CJR comes out with a good run at Columbia
After two races of mediocore results, CJR comes back to the top as Buetch Mayland takes his 2nd win of the season in Twin 1. Starting in 5th, Buetch managed to stay close to the leaders for almost half the race. Then he would catch and pass Collin Evans for 2nd and then later got by Tomazak and was never to be challenged for the rest of the race. "I'm just overjoyed right now" said a very happy Buetch Mayland. "I had a good feeling in practice that the race would be good for us and I was not let down. Car just got better as the race went on and I was able to get by the leaders. Was a little tougher to get by the 26 as he had a good car too, but it was some good side by side racing. I want to thank the team for putting this car together. Glad I could get another win and its pretty cool to be the first repeat winner"
In twin 2, Matt Shimoda also managed a good finish. After starting 2nd, Shimoda was shuffled to the outside by the 12 and 86 and went to 4th. Afterwards, he held position for the rest of the race and even on the restart held firm until the end of the race. "Qualified good, but I lost the nose of the car just a little and it allowed the cars behind to dive to the inside." Said Shimoda. "After that, I just struggled with a tight car, wasn't really able to challenge the guys in front. Solid finish though for me and a actual finish so I can't complain too much"
Meanwhile, Elena was for the third race in a row stuck at the back and unable to come through the field. "Just been bad luck for the last few weeks, think I might have lost the horseshoe and Buetch found it this week" Joked a exhausted Wagner "Its just one of those dryspells where it feels like its going to last forever. I'll just have to keep pushing through, its abit frustrating though when you have the exact same equipment though and can't be near as competitive as your teammates"
Re: NRC is now Mention Only
- Spoiler:
- Franklin Scores 3rd at Columbia
Thomas Franklin may hail from Salt Lake City but he seemed right at home at Columbia Speedway, where he scored an impressive third place finish in his Buffalo Wild Wings sponsored Saar Eagle.
"I'm not sure what it is about this track, and I don't know if it was the car or what but something just clicked this weekend. It feels like my days racing at Moab Speedway when I was just starting out and winning all kinds of local races. Congrats to Arik, he ran a great race and I enjoyed running with him."
Peter Dennis working on an Iowa Race for 2013
Team owner Peter Dennis is, according to reputable sources, working on a proposal to bring the series to the Iowa Speedway. He didn't comment on the deal but did say that the 7/8ths of a mile venue is "great for racing and would be a great fit for the series.

CONFIRMED - Cardillo Out at TDR, Mass Changes Expected for 2013
After the RRoL Round of Southern Illinois, Tom Delgado Racing announced that Marco Cardillo would not return to the team in 2013. Team officials cited poor results as the reason for not renewing Cardillo's contract.
"As hard as Marco has worked this season to give us good finishes, it simply has not worked out the way any of us wanted it to. Therefore, it is with regret that we announce that Marco will not return in 2013. Our team is going to have a completely new look, and a completely new attitude" The statement from TDR read.
With Nemoto not expected to return to the series for 2013, it is unclear which manufacturer TDR would approach for use.

Total Control Racing unsure about retaining Philips and Wade
It is currently unsure whether or not if Greg Philips and Ryan Wade will be retained by their team after this Season. Both Philips and Wade have had the occasional bright spot but have not had much good results to show for it which leaves their contracts in the spotlight at the moment.
