Well, it's All Star weekend, and 20 drivers have locked their spots, and 22 want to be one of the three to get in on Saturday.

Just pointing out that NASCAR changed the rules for the Fan Vote back to what they used to be, where only drivers who finish on the lead lap in the Showdown are eligible for the fan vote position.

That WAS announced a couple months ago, but once again, it appears that it has been comprimised. Junior confirmed for Fan Vote. Fail

Also want to point out that three drivers on the Showdown entry list have no shot of getting the fan vote. That's because NASCAR did not put Mike Bliss, Travis Kvapil, and Scott Speed on the ballot.

Unfortunately, Jimmie Johnson won the Pit Crew Challenge.

A reminder of the Format
Segments 1-4 - 20 laps
Winners of segments 1-4 to the top 2 rows for the final Segment - Mandatory 4 tire Stop
Segment 5 - 10 laps

The showdown is the usual 2 20 lap Segments with an Optional pit stop after segment 1.

Eh, Casey Mears isn't that bad.

On another note: It looks like Dale Jr. might actually RACE his way in. If that happens, then the fan vote probably will go to someone like Bobby Labonte.

Fun race for the most part but the last part pretty much buzzkilled some of the excitement. If Nascar wants good racing along with their gimmicks then why not do something that blends it with that and doesn't allow the guy who sandbags for all but the 1st segment and when it's time to go to win the race. If you think Jimmie deserved that then your probably a biased Jimmie fan.

Ambrose, Allmendinger and Junior with the drives of the race by far.

Quality first 80 laps, but we all knew when Johnson started in the lead he was gonna run away.

In short: Good racing, Kenseth getting a craptacular restart really killed what could have been a good finish.

C+ for the night.
