Random Thought
Ok, I had to put this to you guys 'cause this just ran threw my head. What is the oldest ACTIVE annual motor sport single event? (i.e. Daytona, Indy, etc...). I know that the Milwaukee Mile is the oldest racetrack, but I was curious as to what the oldest racing event was.
Re: Random Thought
Indy.

I thought that was it, but I wasn't sure if there was anything before that that was still running.
Re: Random Thought
like Cooper said, it's Indy, no doubt.

Re: Random Thought
There has been a hill climb event at Shelsey Walsh since 1906, but I'm not sure if it's always been the same event. Indy for sure has been around since 1911, so that may be the oldest.
Re: Random Thought
According to Wikipedia (so potentially inaccurate), the Shelsley Walsh Speed Hill Climb is still the same event as it was in 1905, so that is in fact the oldest.Alpineopossum wrote:There has been a hill climb event at Shelsey Walsh since 1906, but I'm not sure if it's always been the same event. If it was still running now, I believe the French Grand Prix would have been the longest running major event.
