- Spoiler:
- Fischer scores top-10 in debut
Daniel Fischer was all smiles as he exited his #2 Juneau following the opening event for the CRL DD at Irwindale. His first comment after exiting the car?
"I wish I had about 10 more feet," Fischer said with a laugh. "But, we had a great run today and got a top 10 out of it. I would've liked 7th, but 8th is just as good and I'll take that. Can't wait for Portland. This was fun."

- Spoiler:
- Goshen Upset With Motor Troubles and CRL Officials
Jared Goshen and his #00 Goshen Family Racing entry thought they would have the car to beat after posting a pretty fast time in practice and avoiding all of the carnage that was the pit road wall. However, Goshen ended up qualifying 18th and after his run on the radio, he stated that he felt the engine going sour. The team thought they fixed the problem and would have a great run in the first ever CRL Developmental Division race at Irwindale Speedway.
After the green flag dropped, Jared was picking cars off one-by-one in the first two turns, but his engine died on him after crossing the start/finish line. Even though his car stopped on the track, the CRL officials did not through the yellow flag. Goshen was obviously frustrated.
"I have no idea what the officials were thinking! My car was stalled out there, still in the racing groove, I couldn't move the damn thing at all and they decided to keep racing? Ugh, that just stinks! Stinks for Dunkin' Donuts and for Which Wich. Man, and after we fixed the engine on pit road, we had a fast car! Just a shame. On to Portland, I guess," stated Jared Goshen.
After finishing 24th (last) in the race, the team will take the journey to the Pacific Northwest for the second race of the CRL Developmental Division season, looking to score some points.

- Spoiler:
- with all due respect crl, I'm going to disregard the burnouts you did you'll see why is you read on....
Miranda Leckliter wins first ever Developmental series race
"I had to turn down the volume on the headset when she won, but I'm proud of her." says Team Owner John Leckliter.
"I can't believe this! my first ever race in a modified and I win. I stalled the car a few times trying to do burnouts, but I'm just wondering on how I managed to lead every lap." She then proceeds to get a hug from her boyfriend Nathan. (OOC: I retconned the whole crew chief thing)
also, is it bad that I predicted this?

- Spoiler:
- Azzareto has quiet run, just misses points
Frank Azzaretto's debut in racing went pretty smoothly at Irwindale. After starting 9th, Azzaretto ran a quiet race going on to finish 13th, the first driver not to score points. "I'm still trying to get use to these cars. Sucks that we didn't get points, but today was more of a learning experience. Going to a road course should be an exciting experience. Frank has been giving me advice on road course racing and it should be fun."
The next race is at the Portland International Raceway. Azzaretto has never raced on a road course before. FAC Motorsports owner Frank Azure, who had a successful sports car career, has been instructing him on road racing.

Re: 2012 CRL Developmental Division - Round 1 - Irwindale
- Spoiler:
- Suzuka Please with First Week, Hayden and Mills Not
After a tenth and seventeenth place finish for the two SuzukaCorp. drivers, team owner Sean Suzuka said he was 'pleased' with their mediocre finishes. "The goal of this was to get Hayden's performance and confidence up, while Mills gains experience. They did that. It's the first race of the season, and I'm not going to put extremely high expectations on them. Certainly, Hayden has higher expectations than Mills because of his CRL Modified Championship, but regardless, expectations for race one were met."
However, despite their owner seeming satisfied, the two drivers of the SuzukaCorp. cars were less than happy. They had this to say:
Liman Mills, "I was honestly expecting something better than 17th. I was hoping to score at least one point, but I didn't, and I'll move on."
Rallen Hayden, "I'm extremely disappointed with the run. True, I finished tenth, but I was expecting better. I'm in no was saying I'm better than everyone, but I thought my experience would play out and get me a better finish than tenth."
