Spoiler:
Ciston Has "Huge" Day with Debut Victory
Despite being a rookie driver with a new team and new manufacturer, Amy Ciston showed great speed all weekend at Irwindale, qualifying on pole and leading 49 laps en route to her first career victory, and the first victory for Joe Olenick Engineering.

"Wow...just wow, what a great day" an elated Ciston was quoted in Victory Lane, "I don't think anyone expected this, but this victory should be a great sign of things to come".

Team owner Joe Olenick, who was on hand after testing his ASCC car in Willow Springs, echoed that sentiment, saying "What we've done already proves that we're here to compete, and I think we exceeded everyone's expectations...including our own."

Ciston leaves Irwindale with a 50 point lead over second place Bobby Dollar

Spoiler:
Lindsay Morrison starts CRL career with a podium finish in Irwindale

"Man, I can't believe how good of a car we had today. I wanna thank Walgreens for sponsoring us, and Tanner (Clason) for giving us this ride. Great way to start 2012. Congrats to Amy Cistion, nice to see a fellow rookie win the first race. Maybe we'll be the second when we get to Portland." An ecstatic Lindsay Morrison said, after scoring a third place finish at Irwindale, which will put her third in points behind Bobby Dollar and the winner of the Pizza Hut 150, Amy Cistion.

Spoiler:
Disappointing 30th for CRL Debut at Irwindale for Stallen

After starting towards the back of the gird for the Pizza Hut 150 at the Irwindale Speedway, the first race of the 2012 CRL Division, 35-year old rookie Mark Stallen hoped to at least gain some points. He did that, finishing 30th and gaining 4 points in the championship standings.

"We just didn't hit it setup right. It's a shame to travel from Rhode Island to California for this kind of finish, but at least we scored some points. We have a road course coming up, so we'll see how we do. The only other time I've raced at a road course would be Lime Rock Park and the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly Mosport International Raceway). We will spend much more time in practice to get the setup just right, said a determine Stallen after the race.

It was a very rough weekend for the Developmental Division portion of the Goshen Family Racing team, as Jared Goshen finished last in his race after suffering some mechanical problems in the opening laps of the race.
