Modified Division schedule
Developmental Division schedule

In a conference call on Wednesday at its headquarters in Charlotte, the Continental Racing League unveiled the 2012 schedules for the Modified and soon-to-be launched Developmental Divisions. The Modified Division will kick off its season on Sunday night, February 19, with the second running of the Pizza Hut 150 at Irwindale Speedway. The Developmental Division will run its first-ever race the night before.

The two divisions will then pack up and move up the coast to Portland, Oregon, for the first road course event of the season the very next weekend.

The Modified Division will then take a week off before heading across the Pacific for the series' first-ever overseas race, to be held at Japan's Twin Ring Motegi, launching the inaugural CRL Global Cup Presented by FedEx. The Global Cup continues with Round 6 at Symmons Plains Raceway in Australia, then it will move to Europe for the following two races, as Round 9 will be run at The Karting Facility in Torino, Italy, then Round 12 at Brands Hatch in Kent, England, and then concludes with the series' first visit to Autodromo Daniel Estevem in Sao Paolo in Round 15. As previously noted, the Developmental Division will not accompany the Modified Division on its overseas treks.

The biggest race of the season, the British Columbia Grand Prix, will be held on Mother's Day Weekend, as the seventh race of the season. There will be two weeks off between the race in Australia and British Columbia to give one-off teams time to prepare their cars for the race weekend. The Developmental Division will also not run at British Columbia.

One unique race for the Developmental Division will take place at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina on October 6, just 90 minutes before the green flag drops on the Modified Division's 37-lap clash, being held at night for the very first time. The Developmental Division will run a 19-lap sprint race, with a different points system being used due to the short length.

Both seasons will conclude on the final weekend in October as the league visits New York City for the very first time. The newly-built Manhattan Raceway Stadium, a half-mile oval, is now the new home for the CRL's season finales.

Among other highlights are the league's first visits to the high-banked, one-mile West Virginia Speedway in Ellamore, and the famed Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal; the Converse All-Star 200's previously announced move to a mid-summer slot, and its first running at Bowman-Gray Stadium; and the unique doubleheader which will make up the Modified Division's 10th round of the season at Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ontario.

Many Developmental Division races that are run on weekends when the Modified Division is running a night race will be held earlier in the day to give fans more racing for their money.

The inaugural Dirt Division schedule will be released in early January.

I'm thinking about moving that to the winter months.

There has been a change in the schedules. I forgot that Richmond has only 40 pit stalls (you'd think Papyrus wouldn't have done this). So, that race will be replaced with a return to Phoenix in its reconfigured state.
