An ideal debut is to be anonymous or to catch headlines for the right reasons. Fitzy did neither of those.

There's a reason that something like 3/4 of the field lost a lap in the last 5 laps of the race, and only like 1/8 of that reason is how fast the top 5 finishers were.

Let's see, I lost track of who was double stinting tires, I shot so many clips for this race that if I didn't edit the hell out of it, the video would have been at least 10 minutes longer than the actual race was... I deadass forgot that Kurt Plissken was in a wreck, I couldn't tell the Silven cars apart, which wouldn't be as dumb if I didn't paint them myself, and I edited out most of Morgan Le Fay's charge from 44th on the grid, which in hindsight was a mistake.

- Jon Dilks Interview:
- Jon Dilks exited the Care Center, and was asked about the wreck.
"THAT *censored* WRECKED US! DAMMIT! We had a decent car and we were getting to the top 20, and when I went into the turn, I gave him PLENTY of room but he chased me and he wouldn't get off the throttle and wrecked me! *censored* Russian! If the officials don't teach him the error of.his ways, with a penalty, I'm going to teach him. I'll punch him in the throat and I don't care who you are, it's hard to race with a broken windpipe!"
Dilks walked away, passing the 15's stall and yelled expletives at the team, then left, and went to the team hauler.

- Post-Race Press Release:
- Mechanical Failure Spells Early Exit for Fochesato at Karjala
5 May 2019
Vincenzo Fochesato pulls into his pit stall to address a mechanical problem. Car #175 would not rejoin the race.
A promising day came to an early end for Vincenzo Fochesato as he pulled into Karjala Raceway's pit lane.
After starting the race from a career-best 16th on the grid, the Italian racer quickly fell back and eventually settled into the mid-thirties in the running order. He slowly progressed back up to 29th, but reported to the pits not long afterwards when the Millennium Autosport crew called him in for an unscheduled pit stop.
The Swiss team determined that a mechanical problem with the car had been developing up to that point. But the issue turned out to be much worse than initially suspected. In spite of a series of attempts to repair it, car #175 - the only FIAM to take the start - would not rejoin the race.
Fochesato appeared very optimistic and upbeat after climbing out of his car, in spite of the circumstances of his retirement.
"It's a disappointment for sure, obviously. I would have much preferred a chance to get the men and women on this team a result that they properly deserve. But in honesty, I'm actually very, very happy with how today went, even if it ended a little early. We managed to make the race in our first attempt as a team, and I felt really comfortable out there. I was having a proper blast driving the car! This place is so much fun to drive, and the race is one of the greatest in the world. It's an indescribable experience just to be here and to have made it this far, and I'm more grateful than words can describe to be fortunate enough to be here."
Fochesato would be ranked 44th out of the 46 starters.

Re: 2019 TM Master Cup Series | Round 7: Karjala Grand Prix
Statement issued by Ferdinand United Team Principal, Lucien Ferdinand, Karjala, Finland
Motorsports at it's highest level will always be an especially fickle mistress. It will tug at your heartstrings in every way imaginable from the highest of highs, to the lowest of lows. My team will leave Karjala having experienced both in ways such hallowed ground could provide.
Making the Karjala Grand Prix will always be an accomplishment in it's own right, and I am incredibly proud of my team and my drivers Darren and Patrick in what we were able to do whilst maintaining full focus on the German Supercars season.
Of course the race would show the other side of what is possible, with both Darren and Patrick being dealt blows not of their own doing early, and often. We came to this race with our own interpretation of what a Master Cup Gessler could be, with our knowledge and expertise in aerodynamics it proved to be an excellent machine with plenty of untapped potential. We believe it could be a total game-changer.
But the early incidences were to completely compromise what our cars were capable in doing over an entire race distance. I am happy the MTW19 G-TECs made it to the finish, but not in the manner I was hoping. I am eternally thankful for the effort the whole team throughout the process and during the Karjala Grand Prix.
We will rebuild, we will return.
