RROL NOMAD
Hello all. I have been thinking about reviving the RROL (to start up again in 2019). I hope this is an appropriate setting for this thread.... Right now, I just wanna gauge interest in participation.
This time around the RROL will only compete within the continental United States, primarily/mostly with American manufacturers that also produce standard consumer street vehicles. I’m thinking 30 cars MAX, but it could be adjusted depending on interest. No more than 40 for sure. Some of the concepts I’m applying with Stocklantis will be in use here.
Currently I’m not set on a mod, but I’m definitely leaning toward the 2017 NXS (Xfinity) mod. I’d prefer to use a mod currently not in use by another canon series.... so that rules out the Pinty Series mod, the Muscle Car Late Model mod, and some others that I’m honestly not 100% sure of (input here would be appreciated) - admittedly I haven’t been keeping up other than for the past couple of months, since I took a break from all of this.
There should be plenty of room in this series as well, considering I’m planning on having 5 entries or less overall. And I will be saving a few spots for a close friend but expect more than 20 spots will be available. I’d like for most of the series to made up of drivers that are not mine.
I’m thinking a 12-16 race schedule.... maybe 20. A typical year-long points tally style system is the most likely to be used but it will likely be an unorthodox system (at least for stock car racing).
Commentators would be Woody Watts and another former RROL driver

Re: RROL NOMAD
Okay ya'll.... I'm excited to share new developments for the RROL's reincarnation with you.
The series will return using the SiModified.com SK Modifieds mod (CTS physics)!
When things are closer to set up, I'm planning on reaching out to our friend who ran the CRL, and offering him some of the first spots in the series.
I can tell you now that the series will be competing primarily on the East Coast (considering races in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin as well) on ovals of 1.5 miles or less and I would like to have a couple of road courses on the schedule as well. Most likely the series goes only as far south as Georgia, and definitely no further west than Wisconsin (if that far). Other than PA and WI, every other track I'm considering is in a coastal state.
I am guaranteeing a schedule of 16 total races or less and the tire supplier will be Goodyear.

Things to do:
I may have missed something but I think that covers most of it......
feel free to let me know of any suggestions you have or ideas you would like to see implemented...!

Things to do:
- Create series logo
- Create series contingencies
- Create series templates (working on producing 2048x2048s for this... )
-I chatted with Cynon about which canonical manufacturers would be interested in participating in the RROL - looks like Lenard is definitely in, Saar is possibility. Set the scheduleDevelop a point system- First round sign-ups (positions will be offered to active moderators here and CRL, myself and my friend Eric)
-I will make sure this doesn't take up too many of the positions, more than half will still be available by round 2. - Second round sign-ups (open to the public here on the forum - first come first serve)

Robert Clarke announces “RROL Foundation” and new series
NEW YORK, NY. — Waldorf Astoria New York
68-year old Robert Clarke held a surprise press conference today at the landmark Manhattan hotel, the Waldorf Astoria New York. Clarke announced the creation of what he calls the “RROL Foundation”. The RROL Foundation was officially incorporated just two days ago. Before today’s announcement, Robert Clarke was last seen publicly in 2016 when he revealed had been diagnosed with lung cancer. Clarke appeared noticeably thinner and frail.
“Today, I’d like to present the RROL Foundation. I intend for this foundation to support youth motorsport development and provide an avenue into the professional ranks. This corporation serves as an interest group that aims to protect the competitor and encourage the competition.”
The RROL Foundation is clearly named after the RROL racing series that Clarke founded in the late 1990s. It competed from 1998 until 2011 but didn’t survive after a series of significant changes from 2008 through 2011, particularly from 2010 to 2011. In 2011 the series was known as the Vaughn Stock Car Championship. The RROL Elite Series was then revived in 2012 and carried on by new ownership, with the series eventually becoming known as the National Racing Championships.
Clarke also announced a new tour-type modified series, the first major American modified series since the Continental Racing League. The North-Atlantic Open-Wheel Modified Asphalt Division (NOMAD) will begin competition in 2019. The RROL Foundation will govern NOMAD, and Faber Fabrication will supply chassis to the series for the inaugural season.
Despite the lavishness of the press conference, the RROL Foundation will be headquartered in Richmond, Virginia.
More details about NOMAD will be released in the next few weeks.

Thank you!
I’m planning on having the series template done and available for download in the next few days - I would like to get it out with the contingencies in the same file, for the sake of simplicity. I’ll finally have some time to sit down and work on it again Monday and Tuesday (I’ve been busy lately).
Also, look out for public sign-ups to open very soon. Like Monday evening or Tuesday soon. It mainly just depends on how much prep work I am able to get done Monday.
To those of you who I offered first dibs via PM, who have not yet sent an entry, I will not be reserving space for you when public sign-ups open... at that point it will be “first-come, first-serve” for everyone. If you would like to guarantee yourself a spot, you should get your entry to me as soon as possible.

Teller reaches 2-year agreement with RROL to sponsor NOMAD pole award
Virginia-based watchmaker, Teller, has confirmed a deal with the RROL hierarchy to sponsor the pole award for the North-Atlantic Open-Wheel Modified Asphalt Division (NOMAD) in 2019 and 2020. The language of the contract between the two entities includes an option for the Tysons Corner timepiece constructor to double the length of the deal after the 2019 season, per negotiators close to the process.

OPEN for business
2019 RROL NOMAD sign-ups are now publicly OPEN!
We will begin with full-time sign-ups for 1 car.
If you have 1 car already, please wait until 2nd car entries open up before submitting a second car (even if your entries will not be on the same team).
I would like to get as many different users involved in this series as possible.
(Keep in mind, this series should somewhat resemble the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.)
Sponsor(s): (unsponsored, real, or fictional - whatever - so long as it fits in the TM Canon..... alcoholic beverages should not be sponsoring a driver that is younger than 21)
Team Name: (I’m okay with these being affiliates of FARC and TMMC teams... which is unlike the real modifieds)
Team Headquarters: (for full-time teams, this really should be no further west than Indiana - even that is a stretch)
Team Owner:
Owner’s Age:
Owner’s Hometown:
Engine Supplier: (Lenard, Saar, Faber [spec], in-house, other)
Driver Name:
Driver’s Boost: (a 10-point pre-season boost applied to ONE driver attribute.)
Driver’s Age: (at least 16)
Driver’s Hometown: (in general the drivers should be American and from somewhere close to the East Coast)
Driver Info: (previous racing history, background story, character traits, whatever you’d like to include)
Please declare whether you will be painting this car or if you will need someone to paint it for you.
I will post the Faber spec template tomorrow (it will include Saar and Lenard logos + series contingencies).

I hope this doesn't upset you, but I would like it if you could edit your entry to fall closer to the guidelines I gave. This go around will be different from the RROL of old.

I can live with the choice of driver (even though I do find it to be pretty unrealistic), but I think the team should definitely be headquartered much closer. If you insist on the team being foreign-based I think Canada presents a more fitting option.
I have no problem with the use of a Kanako engine though.
Keep in mind this is intended to be a lower-budget series and the races are in Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Thank you. I appreciate you doing that.
2nd entries can now be submitted.
They don’t have to be a teammate to your first entry, but they also can be. That is up to you.
After letting this round run for awhile, depending on where we are with the full-time team count, I will either open things up unlimited or end full-time sign-ups.

thought you'd follow the normal protocol ceej follows (cars with numbers that feature letters are in-game as for example, #A9 becomes #009), if that ain't the case, just give it the #8

Go ahead with the second team. You've got the #25.
I'm not sure what the status of what became of the RROL/VSCC in 2014... I understand there was a RROL reboot for 2012 and then I thought it became like National Racing Championship (NRC) or something. Admittedly, I checked out and wasn't really following what happened here then, but yes, I would consider that to be canon-relevant.

Re: RROL NOMAD
Breaking: RROL announces NOMAD Knockout Cup
During an in-depth revelation of the point scoring system to be used in the RROL North-Atlantic Open-Wheel Modified Asphalt Division, series officials revealed an unexpected plot twist. In addition to the standard season-long tally-style point system to determine the series champion, the RROL NOMAD Knockout Cup offers an additional trophy for the series competitors. Essentially a tournament-style system, the Knockout Cup shouldn't interfere with the tallied championship points battle as the two will occur simultaneously - and the objective for drivers will ultimately remain the same - beating opponents.
The NOMADs will run 12 races in 2019, and the qualifying period for the Knockout Cup is the first 7 races. After 7 races have been completed, a total of 12 drivers will enter the knockout cup - making the cut first are drivers who have won a race. The remaining spots of the 12 are given to drivers with the highest championship points positions.
Knockout Round 1 of the Knockout Cup is races 8 and 9. 12 drivers have 2 races to compile as many points as possible. If a driver in the 12 wins, they automatically advance to the next round. The 4 drivers of the 12 that earn the least amount of points will be eliminated. 8 drivers move on to round 2.
Knockout Round 2 is races 10 and 11. 8 drivers left. Knockout participants that win automatically advance to the final round. 4 drivers will be eliminated and 4 make the final round.
The Final Knockout Round is the season-finale race 12 @ Rockingham Speedway. The highest-finisher/highest points-earner in the race wins the NOMAD Knockout Cup.

SnakePlissken wrote:If a 3rd car is allowed
I’m planning on closing the full-time entries at 30 cars, so maybe. Although, I do have to say, it would help your case a lot if your first two entries were complete (at least the sign-ups, not talking about the paint schemes). One-off/part-time participation will also be an option, so the 3rd car could be used there if not full-time.
I would like to start running this series in mid-March, so that should give everyone more than a week, maybe two, in which to get paint schemes done and sent to me or requested here on the forum. I think that is reasonable, but we will see where we are at around then.
