2017 Spanish GP
F1 returns to one of the regular races of the season in Spain. 2016 saw a drama filled race with a surprise winner, will 2017 produce another surprise winner? Before I get to the race headlines, there is 1 news item I want to get to.
Sauber Switching to Honda
The struggling Sauber team has been given a slight boost to their 2018 campaign. With talks of McLaren switching to Mercedes engines, Honda was going to go teamless. This changed for Honda when Sauber decided to switch to use their engines for 2018. Sauber has had a rough past couple of years since they lost support from BMW so having support come from Honda will definitely help Sauber in the future.
Now, let's get to some headlines.
Valterri Joins the Winners Circle
The 2017 Russian GP will be a race that Valterri Bottas will never forget. Valterri claimed his first career win holding off a hard charging Sebastian Vettel and with a little help from the lapped car of Felipe Massa. Valterri won in his 81st start and let Mercedes know that choosing him to replace Nico Rosberg was a great choice.
The Marathon Man Nico Hulkenburg
The 1 stop strategy was well used in Russia, it was just a matter of when everyone would pit. For Renault's Nico Hulkenburg, he decided to stretch out his run on the ultrasoft tires going an unprecedented 41 laps. Most drivers came in 10 laps before Nico did but Nico showed the amazing ability of the longevity of the 2017 tires. While Nico finished in P8, his run on the ultrasofts can not go unnoticed.
Toro! Toro...Where is the Bull?
Red Bull has had an interesting start to the season. While they are the clear number 3 team, this is somewhat of a letdown from where they were last year. The rumor is is that they have massive upgrades coming soon but they are in danger of falling out of the battle for the win.
"Where is my Mind?"
Poor Fernando Alonso, can 2017 be any worse for him? He has not finished all 4 races and has continuously voiced his displeasure of the car multiple times. Fernando has to survive this race and he can go to the Indianapolis 500 to get away from the death trap known as the McLaren Honda.

Re: 2017 Spanish GP
Time for the Spanish GP questionnaire. There are 5 questions for this one.
1. 2012 saw Pastor Maldonado score the pole after who was disqualified from the pole?
2. 2001 saw Michael Schumacher win, however, he was not happy with the win after picking up the pieces from whose mechanical failure on the last lap?
3. Before Catalunya, where did F1 race the Spanish GP from 1986-1990?
4. 1994 saw Michael Schumacher make a miraculous drive. He finished 2nd with only 1 gear. What gear was he stuck in?
5. True or false, there have been no repeat winners of the Spanish GP in 10 years.

This season is turning out to be a great one. Sebastian Vettel vs. Lewis Hamilton will be a title fight for the ages. Two of the best, now finally in equally matched cars.

That was so awesome of Kimi to meet up after his retirement with that young race fan of his who was in the grandstands. That boy will have quite the story to tell for the rest of his life.
