NASCAR at Fontana
Cup entries: http://www.jayski.com/stats/2017/pdfs/05acs2017entry.pdf
NXS entries: http://www.jayski.com/nxs/2017/pdfs/nxs-05acs2017entrylist.pdf
We're still a couple weeks away from the Truck Series getting back underway, so in the meantime, we're doing just Xfinity/Cup weekends.
After a Dash-4-Cash weekend in which the experienced Cuppies took the Saturday off (resulting in a pretty good race), sadly they're back this weekend. Other than the usual suspects (Kyle Busch, Logano, Larson), Paul Menard is entered in the 2 for RCR.
The Austin Dillon v. Cole Custer issue won't be settled this week, as Dillon isn't in the Xfinity race. (Though Ty is.)
On the Cup side, we've only got 39 entries, which means unless a couple late entries show up everybody's racing. (Your definition of "racing" will vary depending on who you're talking about.) Will Larson be able to hold onto his points lead?

Auto Club has been one of the better tracks on the schedule in recent years, hopefully good things continue.

Re: NASCAR at Fontana
Kyle Larson has been the talk in NASCAR this weekend.
He won the pole for today's Cup race. He beat Logano in the Xfinity race yesterday. He's leading the Cup points but still looking for win #1.

Re: NASCAR at Fontana
How about a shoutout to Brad Keselowski and the 2 team - struggled just to stay on the lead lap for like half the race after being damaged on the start, I thought a top 15 would be a good effort for that team but somehow they worked themselves up to finish 2nd... I'm really stunned by that one.

Awesome job by Larson today. And kudos to Brad K. on the comeback after the first caution. And what's with Johnson lately? I know its early this season, but the #48 team has looked somewhat atrocious this start to the season

Glad to see Larson get the monkey off his back.
He also has a full race lead in points now.

Re: NASCAR at Fontana
Besides, it's still pretty early on in the season. Regardless of the format, there have ben at least two or three times in the past (not just in NASCAR) where the driver can have a points lead large enough for 1-2 races, but they end up choking it away towards the end of the season.PackerMan71 wrote:navycook75 wrote:Glad to see Larson get the monkey off his back.
