NASCAR at Martinsville

After the ridiculousness the Talladega ending was, NASCAR heads to the Paperclip, aka Martinsville Speedway. Joey Logano swept the Round of 12, therefore is looked at as a championship threat. Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Jeff Gordon, Brad Keselowski, Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick, yes, Harvick, not even penalized or anything, are the 7 others left.

The trucks are also at Martinsville as well for Saturday's race. Ross Kenseth, Matt Kenseth's son, will debut in the #18 KBM truck, while Austin Cindric, the son of Team Penske president and Will Power's IndyCar strategist Tim Cindric, will drive the #29 truck for BKR.

Harvick has made his share of enemies but I predict about halfway (250 mark).

Kenseth has to first catch Logano considering Kenseth starts 18th and Logano on the pole, but if it does happen, it will be interesting but I predict towards the end (400 mark).

IMO, this race so far has been NASCAR trying to make up for the bullshit at Dega. Mission. Fucking. Accomplished.

This is why I didn't ragequit after the last race. If Harvick gets taken out, we will have almost reached Southern 500 levels of greatness.

Jeff was the first driver I really looked up into in NASCAR, and even though there's been a lot of high and lows over the years I started watching him, this is by far the most excited I've been to see him win a race. HE'S GOING TO HOMESTEAD!!!!!

AND JAMIE GOT P2 AS WELL!

Since Packer's not doing the race writeup, I'll do it.

My opinion:

The race was kind of forgetable for all but the last 50 laps. Then the "Holy Shit" fest began with everyone, including me, screaming with my arms up with the payback and the dread of everything going wrong, along with the 50 lap race the sunlight was some of the best racing I've seen this entire season!

So, my thought of the race was a boring start, middle and capping it off with a nailbiter and Jeff winning?! Yep, this gets a stunning for this season8.0!

Great drive by Jeff Gordon, took good use of the Kenseth vs Logano situation and pounced. Also, shoutout to Jamie McMurray for an excellent run to finish 2nd as well. Smile

Definitely hard to call myself a Kenseth fan right now. That was absolutely unwarranted, and I cannot defend that. Maybe Logano deserved it because he was acting like a whiny bitch these last few weeks, but you do not take out a guy who's still contending for the title, never mind the guy who's leading the fucking race.

I hate that this is what it came down to, but good win Gordon. That was the most satisfying part of this race, watching him get the win he deserved through this entire season. Good race overall.

Also, I have to admit that Sam Hornish getting his shit ruined by Ryan Preece was hilarious. :3

All the people in NASCAR condemning what Kenseth did... well, the only blame to be had is on NASCAR's shoulders. They created this monster by refusing to do anything when Harvick deliberately wrecked half the damn field with a car that could barely do 70 at Talladega, and when Logano thought he could shove Kenseth around. When you refuse to enforce the boundaries, don't be surprised when someone deliberately goes over them.

Difference about this and Harvick, it's Harvick has that reason of doubt. As much as we all know that he did do it. But he just merged into a lane.
Kenseth was way more blantant than Harvick. Lap down, slow as molasses, and just plows the 22.

NASCAR doesn't have the guts to do anything, which is freaking stupid.

I'm really glad that Jeff Gordon won this race and will move on to fight for the championship for the last time.

Looking back into the Kenseth/Logano incident, I understand why Kenseth was still pissed about Logano after Kansas and I don't care much for Logano either, but what Kenseth did was total bullshit IMO. He could have hurt Logano. He can go to hell for all I care. If we're going call out what Gordon did in 2012 at Phoenix, and what Kez did at Charlotte last year, and yes, I was ashamed by what Kez did and I still root for him, then there's nothing different what Kenseth did.

And NASCAR needs to think really hard about the 'boys have at it' rule since it was implemented in 2010.

Anyways, a great race until that incident. An 8.0/10.
