Cloak & Dagger to Protest Race 2 Final Standings
A representative from Cloak & Dagger Racing announced today that they will be filing a formal protest with the league office concerning the final standings of Race 2 at Toddring.
"After much discussion, we at C & D have decided that coming all the way over to Carlisle, England is just way to far to come to be cheated out of championship points," a CDR spokesman stated. "As you know, the race ended under caution. What you didn't see was an incident that the television cameras failed to capture. We are of course speaking of when the #16 Burger King Chicken Fries FIAM Cinque of J.W. Cogburn was in line for a 5th place. Yet he wasn't allowed to finish in 5th because he got passed getting back to the line. Rooster got damage when one of the other Super Touring drivers got into him, under caution mind you, but Dash Cup officials neglected to cover it. How they missed this in this day and age of social media is beyond us. We thought they would address this issue in due time, but they have failed to do so. We are left with no other alternative but to lodge a formal protest of the final race results and demand that they be adjusted accordingly. Cogburn earned those 5th place points and he deserves to have them."
Driver J.W. Cogburn was asked to comment on his chances of overturning the official results and he commented, "Baby sister, I was born game and I intend to go out that way."
