I know NASCAR sometimes adds an extra digit to a number in owner points to distinguish two different teams running the same number, but is Sheldon actually going to run a triple-digit car? If so, that's certainly interesting...

I feel like I've been waiting far too long for this race. It's been 4 months too long since I've had any ARCA to watch!

I would think that Gerhart is overdue to win a race at Daytona, seeing as he hasn't done so in the last two years. Razz

I would expect the #5 to do very well, but I'm interested in seeing if the Empire Racing cars will retain their speed from pre-season testing, too.

ARCA announced that they have signed a three year extension with Fox Sports for the 2015, 2016, and 2017 ARCA seasons. This year's schedule will feature the races at Daytona, Talladega, Iowa, Lucas Oil Raceway, and Kentucky live on Fox Sports 1. Additionally, another five races will air live on Fox Sports 2, but will re-air on Fox Sports 1. Those five races are Michigan, Chicagoland, Kansas, and the two races at Pocono.

Actually, Catania owns the #18 that Brent Cross was supposed to drive, but since Cross moved to the #99, Catania decided to drive the car himself. Roo Motorsports just withdrew.

Thursday's practice session sees Bobby Gerhart top the charts. Matt Kurzejewski was second, Bo LeMastus third, Blake Jones fourth, and Derrick Lancaster fifth. The rest of the top ten (in order) consists of Clay Campbell, Daniel Suarez, Frank Kimmel, Tom Hessert, and Will Kimmel.

None of the Empire Racing cars made the top 10 despite their speed in testing, with the #82 of Patrick Starapoli apparently stalling on the frontstretch.

Hillenburg is the listed owner of the car, but it was prepared by Ken Schrader's team.

Also, assuming the car passes tech, it would mean that Mark Thompson would take the record for oldest driver to win a pole at 63 years, seven months, and four days.

Here's the starting grid for the race. The only car that failed tech was the #83 of Derrick Lancaster. Lancaster's car had a minimum height violation for the rear quarter panel, so his time was disallowed, and since the car didn't have enough owners points, he goes home.

Literally, I do think because Neuenberger was way too freaking slow (6 seconds). That car is only in the race because provisionals.
