Since school here is on its final two months,I'm trying to focus everything on it. What means that I'm only going to pop-up here and on the GOMA TS on Saturdays and Sundays.

Re: Random Discussion Thread
I assume there's probably a lot of Top Gear fans on this forum, and I was wondering what your thoughts are on the recent controversy. Top Gear was filming in Argentina and one of their cars had the license plate "H982 FKL". This seemingly represents the 1982 Falklands War. For those who don't know, the Falklands War was between Argentina and Britain. The Argentine Army (which was running the country in the early 80s) took over the Falkland Islands, a colony of Britain, expecting to be able to annex them. PM Margaret Thatcher ordered a "task force" to the Falklands which ran the Argentines out.
Anyway there's a lot of talk that the license plate was intentional and that Jeremy Clarkson will loose his job over this. Both Clarkson and the series producers deny that it was on purpose. Do you believe them?

Hammond appeared on BBC Radio 2 assuring that it was entirely coincidental and they had only noticed it after Clarkson received a tweet a good portion into their travels.

As some of you may know by now, I am currently in Vancouver! I'm attending the annual GSA (Geological Society of America) conference and will be giving a talk tomorrow on the research that I did over the summer detailing some new discoveries in trilobite taphonomy and anatomy discovered with some new techniques basically never used before.

After winning a contest on Twitter (@RealRacingRoots), my Amlin Aguri T-Shirt has finally arrived! Although the real prize is a signed Katherine Legge postcard.
Not as bad as the general drama at GTPlanet. At least the NR community like their namesake game.

I've noticed something wrong. Since last Saturday when the clocks went backwards 1 hour, the time for me on EFR is 12 hours behind my home country, England. Anyone know why?

Check your preferences, forumotion might have changed it automatically, like it happened to me here in BRLand, as now we are on daylight saving time, my timezone changed from São Paulo to Thunder Bay alone.

Mine got changed to Istanbul time. Was there a specific reason for this happening (apart from Daylight Savings Time changes)?

Re: Random Discussion Thread
So this is a thing that I helped out with. Without naming names, I can think of at least one other person here who might enjoy it.
Lengthy and Stuffy Backstory: The Japanese game series Touhou Project, in which girls in frilly dresses shoot at each other with intricate laser patterns, is the latest of my obsessions. Earlier this year, I discovered some Touhou-based animations made with the comic generator Create.swf, commonly nicknamed "Walfas" after the blog that it is hosted on (think of it as being similar to those Bitstrips comics that flood your Facebook feed). I made a few of my own cartoons with it, and then I found that a number of the people who make these animations belonged to a group called the Walfas Station Wagon, a community dedicated to making Create.swf comics and videos.
I joined WSW and jumped on the opportunity to contribute to their Halloween special, which is made up of sketches submitted by various WSW members. I ended up animating 6 sketches; 3 of them being my own ideas, and 3 for people who pitched ideas but didn't have the knowledge or means to make videos out of them. I enjoyed the experience; it was refreshing to get back into animating on a more frequent basis and start relationships with people outside of sim racing.

Although Indycar is better racing wise, I think Nascar just beats it on emotional investment.
