Fictional Chassis?
I was talking with Cooper (Cynon) last night about the comparisons of Real Life Makes vs Fictional Makes
So, in a manner of ensuring knowledge about the fictional makes, here is a thread to discuss the similarities, or differences between makes of the Real World and the TM Canon.
The Lycoia Chassis is a crossover between Toyota, Ford, and Kia/Hyundai.
I prefer engine power over the Aerodynamics, chassis, and reliability, while this isn't wise when it comes down to endurance races, it gets the job done when you want to get to the front really fast, and if you are not blocked by the oh so annoying back markers that just won't get out of the way -.-
From what I can tell or remember:
Saar = Chevrolet
Lenard = Ford
Inglesby = Dodge
Tremwell = Pontiac
Lycoia = Toyota*
Volpi = Ferrari**
Gessler = Mercedes**
Gasnier = Citroen**
STS = Vauxhall or Opel**
Juneau = Honda or Holden***
Bolden = Oldsmobile
Corsa = Ferrari**
Nemoto = Subaru**
Nova = Toyota
Corsair = Porsche
Meridian(?) = Hyundai**
(*) = Heaviest Influences/Primary Base (May Consist of Other Makes/Models)
(**) = Unconfirmed or Theorized
(***) = Associated With or Otherwise Similar too, but not based off of said makes/models
Name(?) = Unknown or No Source to visualize.

I always thought Saar=Saab.....I have a brilliant mind.
Gasnier may be Citroen,only much cooler.

Well...
Saab IS owned by GM or at least shares the same chassis as several American GM models, so yeah, it's kind of weird.

Re: Fictional Chassis?
I don't really try to take influences from other car companies when making the Juneau templates but I would probably most closely associate it with either Holden or Honda.
Holden example.

Lol I copied the wrong picture. Oh well, the new Chevy Luminas are basically the Holden Commodore just with a different logo.

Re: Fictional Chassis?
I always thought that Corsa was Ferrari. Nemoto could be Subaru, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Honda, Nissan...
Also the Meridian looks a LOT like the 2011 Hyundai Sonata.

Re: Fictional Chassis?
The Lola on the site was not intended for the TM canon, because it was based off of a real car.
Luce is not a manufacturer. Neither is M&J.
The Omecha, the Katzev, the JD, and the Journey are privateer cars -- no road equivalent exists.
The two Calton-Morel cars (the Nova and the Corsair) have different influences. The Nova resembles a Toyota and the Corsair (the yellow headlights being the giveaway) vaguely reminds me of a Porsche.
CRL gave me a picture of an Oldsmobile to base the Bolden off of. It was a pretty old Olds too.
The Flashback is an Inglesby model.

Re: Fictional Chassis?
STS. STS. Gosh. I think the STS is probably the TMMC equivelant of...Vauxhall or Opel?
Some other links (many of them I have no clue what they relate to):
Fortner FS260 - It's probably a cross-breed of Pontiac mixed with...Caddy?
Tonare Thunder - Cross-breed between Pontiac and Tesla. (according to BurningThunder)
Duncan - A definite relationship to the Olds 442 because of the triple square grills and lights.
Karl Inc. Revolution - A Ford Focus hybrid, maybe?
Genesis - TMMC/ARLA universe's answer to the Toyota Prius
Xenos - Sort of Tesla-ish, much like Tonare
Corsa - Cross-breed of Ferrari and Fiat, perhaps?
For the trucks:
Saar Nebraska - Chevy Silverado
Karl Inc. Pioneer - Mash-up of Dodge and Toyota, I think.
Optic Siege - Chrysler PT Cruiser (it's what it reminds me of)
Spiedel Drone - ?
Fortner C-Series - Vague reminder of Chevy SSR.
Xenos Ram RKS - A cross-breed of Dodge and BMW.
Cromwell CTR - Cross-breed of Silverado and F-Series?

Tonare is based off of a cross between Pontiac and Tesla Motors (at least the background for Tonare).

But Subaru is the only one that is very active with their racing team (Subaru World Rally Team) like Nemoto (Star Team Nemoto)
