Johnson Racing parks Jefferies after Dwyer
After wrecking his teammate Sam Brown into another teammate, Tom Wilson, on pit road at Dwyer Speedpark, Johnson Racing CEO Dale Johnson has announced that the driver of the #91 Caterpillar Chevrolet, Ryan Jefferies, will sit out a race as the team re-evaluates his contract for next season. "It's a disappointment that one of our drivers has the gall to wreck not only one teammate, but two in what appeared to be a blatant incident on pit road," Johnson said. Before the race, Jefferies had been seen getting in an argument with Brown, and an anonymous bystander reported that the words "PCC Racer 2012" and "wrecked me" were used by Jefferies, before he stormed away to his car. After his hard hit at Dwyer, Tom Wilson was taken to a local hospital for further examination, where it was announced that he had suffered a mild concussion and would sit out for Grand Detour. Wilson was the driver first reported to take over the #91, but the team is now in talks with John Jefferson about coming aboard for the upcoming race at Quincy, Illinois.
