2013 Johnsonville Sausage 200 @ Road America - Nationwide
Last Year, Nelson Piquet Jr. prevailed to his 1st ever NASCAR victory at this long 4-mile road course, which produces one of the most exciting races in NASCAR, and became the first Brazilian to win in NASCAR.
Regan Smith won last week's phenominal race at MIS when he held off rookie Kyle Larson. He has over a race lead in the points over Sam Hornish Jr. What is bound to happen? We'll find out on Saturday.

O'Connell instructed my Dad at Mid Ohio many years back. He's a top notch driver in every respect.

We might see both races won by Australians.

Another Danica invention, driving with rain tires! I digress, but this race looks to be a goodie.
Re: 2013 Johnsonville Sausage 200 @ Road America - Nationwide
If it's a wet race, then they'll be no chance of a regular driver victory.
Re: 2013 Johnsonville Sausage 200 @ Road America - Nationwide
Johnny O'Connell won many a race in the rain in his ALMS days so things are looking up for him.
Re: 2013 Johnsonville Sausage 200 @ Road America - Nationwide
Qualifying is over, A.J. Allmendinger gets the pole.

Rough break for McDowell. At least the engine choked other than the driver.

That's the 2nd time that ESPN said we're going green next time after the commercial break. Just shows you what crappy coverage they have.

I thought they said NASCAR had a problem with scoring and had to extend the caution.bigdc48 wrote:That's the 2nd time that ESPN said we're going green next time after the commercial break. Just shows you what crappy coverage they have.

There's the right way to pass three cars, and then there's the Parker Kligerman way.

Everyone runs out of fuel and Tim Andrews wins this race. Calling it now.

Congrats to the Dinger on his first NASCAR win. Hell of a drive by him and a great race.

WTG AJ about damn time! This is why I have a lot of respect for Roger Penske. He saw that AJ was fixing what he had to and he stuck with him. Great job by the #22 team and AJ enjoy it.
Re: 2013 Johnsonville Sausage 200 @ Road America - Nationwide
The typical awesome race we've come to expect from Road America. Fun stuff.
Good win Allmendinger! Dude needed that after a rough 2012 and a finding himself 2013.
Max Papis is the most hilarious driver whenever he shows up. That slap was classy as fuck...Only he could pull that.
A couple of wrecking balls but it's to be expected.
Fun stuff.

What Max Papis did to Billy Johnson after the race...not what I was expecting.
Anyway, it was a really good race. Some good, hard racing by a bunch of drivers throughout most of the race. What happened at the end was to be expected. Billy Johnson's showing that he's the next Jacques Villeneuve (he's young so he's got a way's to go). And yes...A.J ALLMENDINGER!! I'm really glad he won this race! I hope this opens up more opportunities for him whether it's in Indy Car or a top ride in the Sprint Cup. He deserves it.

The #22 Discount Tire car wins the race, and thank goodness it wasn't being driven by someone named Villeneuve this time!

Re: 2013 Johnsonville Sausage 200 @ Road America - Nationwide
I think if Jacques Villeneuve was still in the 22 car,he probably would've wrecked out on the First Lap, so I'm glad Allmendinger brought it home to Victory Lane.
Re: 2013 Johnsonville Sausage 200 @ Road America - Nationwide
Penske has almost won on a road course so many times with Keselowksi, Villeneuve, Tags, and Hornish it's great to see him finally break through. Great win for Allmendinger.
