Keyboard is typing different letters

on certain keys, other letters or functions come up. For example, my control button turns on caps lock, my a key sends me back to the start and pressing shift gives me the plus symbol.

any reason why this is happening and can I fix it?

Nevermind, ran a virus scan and it cleared that up.
