2012 Predictions; How did they go? Empty 2012 Predictions; How did they go?

Post by Ben Atkins Thu Nov 08, 2012 4:58 pm

I think there was a thread like this, but I seen these threads with the predictions in them and it sparked an idea. As the 2012 Racing season is almost over (Sad) I decided to open up this thread so you guys could see how accurate you were with your predictions. I'll post mine in spoilers to avoid stretching the page.

Formula 1

Spoiler:

NASCAR

Spoiler:

Scarily close with my F1 picks, but my NASCAR predictions were way off.... how about you guys?

You know, no offence Ben but I'd rather do this when the season I both those leagues are over, but I can already predict the best race of the F1 season was probably China in my opinion, and in NASCAR the Quicken Loans 400.

You have two weeks to wait for NASCAR, and a bit longer for F1, but what harm is there getting them up early? I actually wanted to put it up mainly for Indycar predictions, but I seen that thread derailed a fair bit and no-one actually made predictions, but I'd already done the NASCAR and F1 things for the main post, so I figured why not post it anyway. There's nothing stopping you waiting for the next few weeks, just come back then Razz

Ok, here's mine. Posted in spoiler like the Brit. I haven't watch any of the Truck races and only few of the Nationwide. That's why I didn't post the truck predictions and my answers are such for Nationwide.

2012 Predictions; How did they go? Empty Re: 2012 Predictions; How did they go?

Post by PYLrulz Thu Nov 08, 2012 7:47 pm

From my F1 predictions.

McLaren - Thought they would do a little better, but nothing out of this world from what I predicted, and what they did.
Red Bull - I didn't think they would have to fight for the top at all.
Ferrari - Putting up a fight now, but after the first few races, even with Alonso's win, I thought they were gonna suck bad by Ferrari standards.
Mercedes - See McLaren
Force India - Meh
Sauber - I didn't see Perez coming. Thought Kobayashi would be the star of the team.
Williams - Would have never guessed they'd have a win in them this year
Toro Rosso - As I thought they'd do
Lotus - Didnt think Grosjean would do as well as he did. Kimi, I was expecting anything from him.
Catherham - Thought they would be at the point they could score a poi t here or there.
HRT - Yeah, like I thought.
Marussia - ^^^

2012 Predictions; How did they go? Empty Re: 2012 Predictions; How did they go?

Post by Alta Thu Nov 08, 2012 10:12 pm

Nascar:

First-time winners: AJ Allmendinger - DAMMIT AJ.
Most wins in a season: Brad Keselowski - With the way the championship's going Brad better hope i'm right
Upset of the year: Daytona 500 will be another winner out of left-field - LOLROUSHTEAMORDERS
Disappointments: Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon - Denny: In the chase, Kyle: In general Gordon: In the 1st half of the season....So somewhat right
Best race of 2012: Watkins Glen - Yup. Based finish.
Worst race of 2012: Richmond - I don't remember the spring race and the fall was okay due to Bowyer's wtf pit strategy. There's been a few other races that have been terrible.
Retirees at season end: None - Correct since Boobie Laboobie isn't doing what we say.
Driver of the year: Brad Keselowski - Looking good as Brad has been the most noticeable out of anyone.
Reject of the year: Jeff Gordon - If this were the first half i would've been right
Most likely to lose ride in the middle of the season: Any backmarker driver - Probably correct
Champion: Jimmie Johnson (Really think 2011 was a total off year) - Correct as of right now
Runner-up: Brad Keselowski - GUESS WHO CALLED IT

NASCAR Nationwide Series:

First-time winners: Austin Dillion, Danica Patrick, Brian Scott - Correct on Dillon, Danica has gotten worse and same with Scott
Most wins in a season: Kyle Busch - LOLNOPE.
Upset of the year: Danica Patrick wins a race. - LOLNOPE
Disappointments: Steve Wallace, Timmy Hill, Elliott Sadler - LOLCANNED, LOLBACKMARKER, and if Elliot blows this again then he deserves it.
Best race of 2012: Montreal - Yup.
Worst race of 2012: Any Cuppie won race - *Logano
Retirees at season end: Morgan Shepherd - Maybe...Since Shepherd have fallen off the radar of pretty much everyone.
Driver of the year: Austin Dillon - Debatable on both non-cuppie and the nationwide series in general
Reject of the year: Eillott Sadler - See disappointments but other then that i'm wrong.
Most likely to lose ride in the middle of the season: Someone from Turner - Turner hasn't canned anyone yet.
Champion: Austin Dillion - This is looking to be wrong unless Dillon pulls out hax
Runner-up: Justin Allgaier - NOPE.

First-time winners: Nelson Piquet Jr., Jason White, Miguel Paludo, James Buescher - Right on Piquet and Buescher...while White and Paludo have been anonymous
Most wins in a season: Kyle Busch - LOLPARKED/CHOKE
Upset of the year: Paludo shocks everyone with a win - Still some time left.
Disappointments: Ron Hornaday, Todd Bodine, Matt Crafton - Right on Hornaday and Bodine as Hornaday's has been WAY too anonymous and Bodine has hit everything but the hot dog stand, while Crafton is anonymous but at least runs well.
Best race of 2012: Daytona - Eh...there's been a few better races then Daytona
Worst race of 2012: Everyone else - I really underestimated the truck series
Retirees at season end: Todd Bodine - Bodine plz.
Driver of the year: Nelson Piquet Jr. - Correct. Think Piquet has done awesome this year and his only low points have been do to things out of his control.
Reject of the year: Johanna Long - LOLNATIONWIDE.
Most likely to lose ride in the middle of the season: Todd Bodine - HI I'M RED HORSE AND I'D RATHER SACK THE ROOKIE AFTER 4 RACES WITH A WIN.
Champion: James Buescher - Right now i'm looking to be correct.
Runner-up: Johnny Sauter - Lots of bad luck for Thorsport.

F1:
Champion: Sebastien Vettel - It's close but the odds are in my favor
Runner Up: Jenson Button - Button can't beat Alonso or Vettel this season
Constructors Champion: Red Bull - Most likely correct.
Runner Up Constructors Champion: Mclaren - Possible.
Reject Of The Year: Roman Grosjean - I've turned around on Grosjean and i still have to say i'm correct.
Driver Of The Year: Sebastien Vettel - Debatable but possibly correct.
Biggest Improvment: Nico Rosberg - Eh...Rosberg has been pretty anonymous as of late.
Biggest Dissapointment: Kimi Raikkonen - NOPE. Best comeback if you ask me.
Best New Driver: (Driver with a new team who does the best) Jean-Eric Verge - I guess i'm right.
Worst New Driver: (Driver with a new team who does the worst) Charles Pic - See Best New Driver.
Most Improved Team: Sauber - Correct. Sauber has made big gains this year.
First Time Winners: Nico Rosberg - Correct. Thank you China.
Drivers looking for a ride in 2013: Everyone from Toro Rosso to HRT. - Still a possibility
Best Race: Canada - It was a good race but China is #1 imo
Worst Race: Hungary - Worst race was India so nope.
Any Major News announcements: Russian race is announced for F1, Team orders cause more fun and games, Hamilton and Massa brawl (Bold prediction or bold prediction) - Haven't heard anything about Russia, Don't believe there has been any team order shenanigans, and Massa and Hamilton have stayed away from each other.
