Mika Paasonen is reportedly extremely happy with his shock 2nd place finish. The largely unknown 20 year old Finnish driver, who had never even been to a TM Master Cup series race before even said before the race that he would be happy with just finishing the race. He said today "Never would I have ever imagined that I would finish 2nd in one of the biggest races on earth. I've even heard rumours of TM Master Cup teams being interested in having me drive for them, and I would be willing to accept these offers."

His team, experienced British Sports Car team Worldsport, are also pleased with the result. They are considering running a Independent's Trophy car for next year (pending approval).

To be honest, I'm not so sure about that. Daytona 2011 had 14 cars running at the end but I think the actual record was Russia 2010, where 11 cars were running at the end of the race if I am correct.

Actually lowest number of finishers was probably Texas 2009.

There were no wrecks in that race, even with 2 or 3 mechanical problems, 2010 Russia probably wins this. But this thread is for THIS race, which was amazing. And, my favorite driver won...

The race featured 16 cars of Lenard's and Saar's, but Collin Evans was the only driver to retire from that race so 15 of them finished the race.
