Cleveland Pre-Race Thread
Cleveland to be Double-Points event
It was recently announced that the legendary 30th running of the Cleveland Grand Prix would be a double-points event, much to the shock of the top teams. Instead of a two-car race to the championship, the battle has now grown to 11 cars that can theoretically win the championship.

- Spoiler:
- Yeah Buddah, Woodard Pre-Qualified in 3rd round, will move onto the main qualifying event.
Greg Woodard made his debut in the PCC cup by pre-qualifying for the Cleveland Grand Prix. He qualified for the race 13th and did not GAIN a single position ahead of 13th. He fell back early to 18th but was able to regain lost ground to finish in his starting position. "I'll take it." Was Woodard's response to his finishing result. The biggest surprise however was the 0.0 car making it past the pre-qualifiers during the first round.

Leckliter Racing not surprised on DNPQ.
"We weren't expecting on making it in, the Pre Quals was more of a test session for us, and we did fairly well, even though we didn't qualify." Daniel Leckliter said after the third Pre Qualifying race.

- Spoiler:
- Fuel Pick Up Issue cost More Sr. a chance at Pre-Qing
The #54 GLM one-off entry of Michael More Sr. was on par for a good finish and a shot at the main q race. However, a mechanical issue costed the 52-year old. A inspection of the motor after the race by the team found that the fuel pump had failed.
"It was strange," More Sr. said. "The car was consist and was running good. I just went to go into the corner and it quit. Sucks that was couldn't make it to the main q-race."
Griffin DNPQ's has choice words for Tommy Urbin
"We had a chance to make and some {expletive} moron flat ran into us," Griffin said after his pre-q race. "I checked up for the car in front of me, which I'm not sure what issue they had, and the next thing I know the {expletive} in the #22 ran right into us. It sucks it really does."

Ian Elias comments to Barry Juveno
"What kinda **** is he on. Come at me big boy, I am not scared of you. Go take some anger managment medications you fat idiot. It amazes me that you can even figure out how to turn the car on. Because I'd be hard pressed trusting you with a shopping cart, let alone a race car. Go back to wherever you came from and go sleep on the couch."

Barry Juveno: You cost me my f**kin' championship! You idiot, wreckin' Cameron Taylor. You made him look like da best f**kin' driva out dere! You handed Andy Lambert da f**kin' title. Thanks alot, Elias. Yer a f**kin' idiot! Dis was my home race, too, so you ain't helpin' your case here.
Casey Lester: I have to agree with Barry here, Ian. That was a bit stupid. Who knows how long his 'list of people he's in a rivalry with' is.
Lenny Jacobs: This car was dialed in all race and that's probably why we made it through.
Ian Bolghomme's PCC Cup career comes to a screeching halt, literally. He refused to talk to the press following the race and quickly left the track.

Re: Cleveland Pre-Race Thread
Main Qualifier
This race. That's all I need to say.
Under pacing both the #222 of Poopy Poopington and #36 of Craig Taylor have their engines expire on them. I had to manually add the 222 to the race standings.
Edward Carroll led the field down into Turn 1 clean, although the field bunched up to 5 and 6 wide as usual exiting Turn 1.
In Turn 2, the 37 of Gaspar de Sousa and 45 of Cesar Espinoza are giving each other no room and bouncing off of each other. The 4 of Ike Durbin decides to slide up and join the fun, but is turned into by the 37 and 45. The 37 and 4 go spinning harmlessly into the grass, but the 45 decides to try and be a hero and attempts to save the car. He manages to do so, but immediately clobbers the Turn 3 inside tire walls and falls out of the race.
In Turn 4, a 5-wide situation is remedied when the 80 Mitsubishi Evo of Sammy O'Neil turns the 0.0 of Ryan Lemburg-Ashby III from 24th place. When the 0.0 attempts to merge back in with the field in Turn 5, he makes contact with the 10 of Ian Walker and gits turned into the 4 car, sending Ike Durbin for his 2nd spin in four corners.
In Turn 8, the 69 of Kyle McWulla tries an outside sweep on the 10 car, but is unsuccessful. He bounces into the 08 of Scotty Thomas, then shoots across the track back into the 10 of Walker, collecting the 76 of AJ Murphy in the process. The crew would have to take the hood off of the 76 car, hindering him for the rest of the race.
In the final turn, Turn 10, the 29 of Joe Craig checks up for some reason and is spun from behind by Sergei Yakovski in the 61 from 15th place. The 29 was then clipped by the 75 of Preston Bell (3rd in points) and the 89 of JC Carpenter.
That all happened on the 1st lap.
At the start of the 2nd lap, Preston Bell suddenly slows on the front stretch and it appears he has some sort of problem. Also slowing on the front stretch is the 29 of Craig, who reported that his car was leaking fluid on the track. Both cars would make it back to the pits and come back on track. Preston Bell would be maligned with a dropped cylinder for the remainder of the qualifier running 3 seconds off the pace, while Craig would putz around approximately 4-5 seconds off the pace.
A few cars with some early damage (25, 32, 69) pit early, putting themselves almost one lap down.
On lap 6, The 38 of Azuma Kazeyama slowed from 20th place and stalled on the track from a busted fuel line. He would get the car going again, albeit being two laps down.
On lap 12, the 11 of Louis Bellard passes the 52 for the lead and drives away into the distance.
On lap 13, an axle on the 0.0 of Lemburg-Ashby III gives and he stops between turns 5 and 6. He would be done for the day.
On lap 23, the 2 of Brendan Kelly suffers a puncture from 22nd place. He would only lose a lap.
Routine pit stops occurred on lap 27, when literally every single car came in at the same time. In the process, the 8 of Lenny Jacobs had a great stop and managed to come out ahead of the 52, pushing him back to 3rd.
On lap 30, the 91 of championship and rookie contender Ryan Jefferies blows up while battling for 5th. The following lap, the 69 of Kyle McWulla has his engine quit on him on the frontstretch. He would pull the car off, and retire immediately.
After a fairly calm 15 laps, all hell decided to break loose.
Despite being already solidly locked into the field, the 80 of Sammy O'Neil decided to make a divebomb move on the 61 car of Yakovski for 14th place on lap 46. He would spin out, and be hit immediately by the 166 of David Hetzel and the 420 of Creeper Stevenson. In reaction to the spin, the 018 of Steve Hanson pulled his car down the pits, and the 111 of Greg Woodard spun out into the 66 of John Smith, giving both minor damage. The 80 car would retire from the race, the 166 crew would have to remove the hood from that car, and the 420 was crippled from the hit.
The next lap, the crippled 420 slowed and came to a near stop in Turn 4. Not paying attention, the 08 of Scotty Thomas plowed into the rear of the 420, taking himself out of the race. Did I mention this happened right in front of the leader? Louis Bellard had to take evasive action to avoid the 420, and even then, he only missed him by about 2 feet.
Coming to the white flag, the 39 of Izaak Kowalczyk has his engine expire on him. He was not able to get his car across the line and finish the race, but he was running on the lead lap at the time, locking himself into the Cleveland Grand Prix.
Pretty much, if you finished, you got locked in.

Bell breathes sigh of relief with final transfer spot; Endicott qualifies, the lone representative of Dodge Racing Development; Jacobs ecstatic over 2nd place in Q-Race
Preston Bell: Thank the lord... Ah thought after ah got in that wreck with Joe [Craig], ah thought this car was done. Ah'm so glad we got the last spot, but ah feel really bad for Joe. That didn't seem fair that he got put back to where he was, but life ain't fair.
Dave Endicott: Hell yes! I'm in! This team's been struggling all year and I'm glad I was able to help them out his week. I'm not sure if they'll be back next year, but I'd be interested to drive for them if they are.
Lenny Jacobs: F**K YEAH! I'M IN THE RACE! WOOHOO! I have to thank Paloma for the car this week and I'm hoping Brian [Gallagher] and I will do a good job for this team.

Woodard relieved and happy that he got through the main qualifier.
Greg Woodard: Pulls his car to his hauler, where he gets out and his crew pushes the car into the hauler. "I'm glad I'm in the race, the whole thing was a nightmare." Woodard stated to reporters, "For my debut in the PCC Cup, this is somewhat worrisome."
