Olsen Takes Mallory Park Qualifier; 5 Drivers Make First 2011 Race

*This race was run before Woody Watts' injury at Daytona occurred.. he will not be in the 6 for the rest of the season.

Results

James Proctor [91] started on the pole, and had a great start, getting around Brian Travors [08] immediately.

CAUTION 1 - LAP 2
Out of turn 4, Phillip Werner [41] takes Woody Watts [6] into the outside wall and the 41 would come off the wall and bounce off of Scott Wilson [19]'s car and spin. Meanwhile, Woody Watts was able to continue without spinning.

CAUTION 2 - LAP 9
Casey Lester [00] and Tim Reed [55] get together out of turn 4, and take each other into the outside wall, Scott Wilson and Troy Derekson [12] would be collected by these two. Meanwhile, Kyle Adams [71] turns Woody Watts hard into the outside wall, and Watts goes out of the race due to the damages received in that wreck.

CAUTION 3 - LAP 15
Greg Johnson, Jr. [24] hooks Michael More, Jr. [156] in the middle of turn 4 and both cars go off into the tire wall.. both were able to continue.

While racing back to the line, highest-running part-timer Erik Olsen [31] gets around Brian Travors [08] for 2nd position. During that caution, Nico Petrov [02] has to pit because of a flat tire and gives up the second part-time transfer slot, Petrov was running in 5th. That made Icy Frost [123] the second highest running part-timer, in 11th.

On lap 24, Erik Olsen got around James Proctor for first out of turn 4. Proctor actually fell to 3rd, as Brian Travors was able to pass him as well. At about the same time, the next caution came out.

CAUTION 4 - LAP 25
Kyle Adams hooks Phillip Werner out of turn 4. While trying to avoid the wreck, Troy Derekson turns Jacob Jarrett, II. [27] and both collide with Werner.

CAUTION 5 - LAP 31
Tim Reed gets hooked into the outside wall out of turn 4 by Greg Johnson, Jr. Ryan Hall in the 46 has nowhere to go when Reed slides out in front of him, and bounces into Troy Derekson, sending both the 46 and 12 spinning. Meanwhile, Kyle Adams, Phillip Werner, and Michael More, Jr. all pile into Greg Johnson, Jr.'s car. Hall would have enough damage to have to retire from the race.

Greg Johnson, Jr. turns yet another car on lap 38, when he takes himself and Michael More, Jr. into the pit lane out of turn 4. Both just narrowly missed the end of the pit wall. This did not bring out a caution.

CAUTION 5 - LAP 38
While in a battle for 9th, Gary Steiner [44] and Sam Mitchell, Jr. [99] take each other into the outside wall and the 44 would spin. Sammy Howard [80], Icy Frost, and Nico Petrov. Then Kyle Adams flies in and piles into the rear of the 02, causing the 02 to whip around and smack the front of Tim Reed's car.

Meanwhile there is a bigger incident just behind that, Cody Yeaton [73] hooks Casey Lester [00] out of turn 4, and both cars slam into the end of the pit wall.. but it is Lester getting the worst part of it. Thankfully it was the right front of Lester's car hitting the pit wall, and not the driver's side.. but the impact was enough to make the 00 flip. Both cars would retire.

The 40 lap event finished under caution with Erik Olsen collecting the win.
