Contest Entry: Your input required!

I don't usually enter painting contests per se but this one seemed like something I was interested in.

The rules for this contest:

For the mod we will be using the late model V2 mod. For the sponsor, you can choose any sports team. It doesn't matter what sport it is, whether you support them or not. Pick a team and make a paint.

I'll be honest, I was looking for an excuse to paint a UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs car. This is a rough rough rough draft.



I'm probably going to switch to the Pontiac GTO template as I hate the taillights on the template above unless there's a better Chevy template out there.
I thought I'd use some sort of collegiate font of some kind, but I thought I'd see what other kinds of suggestions you guys might have for this one.

So far it looks good, I'd love to see this as it progresses.

I don't think so, I think it's from short track sim or wherever the contest linked me to.

The slug on the door needs to be smaller otherwise the number won't fit.

Numbers...why not just use the varsity numberset Cynon did?

The Banana Slugs and the UC Irvine Anteaters...anyway I like the car, but I think the black on the roof is a bit out of place.

I'm planning on using a minimal contig configuration so that I can keep the Slug on the sides as big as possible-- or maybe putting the # behind the rear fenders. If so, then I'd put UCSC on the doors.

The black on the roof/hood came with the template, I was experimenting to see how it's look.

I was also considering using reflective numbers.

As for the font,

Thanks! I actually wanted to have a slime trial all over the car and finally leading up to the cab #s. Been thinking about having one of the slugs facing the other direction. Made many changes on this one:



If there are no glaring errors or no more suggestions, I may submit this one soon. Kinda feel the lack of a base may hurt, but the car seems busy enough already. I also considered some bases that would be diametrically opposed to what we think of a slug being-- like flames/lightning-- that type of thing.

Is it just me, or do the headlights on all these templates look huge?!

Headlights are a bit big, but I don't think you should worry about a base, you got a good paint scheme.

Yeah, they all look that way, especially on the Chevy templates I've seen.
