BREAKING NEWS: C-Post confiscated from #48 Daytona 500 car.

So yeah, it was just reported that the C-post from Jimmie Johnson's car was taken by NASCAR, and yes, it is the 500 car, not the Shootout car.

Bob Pockrass tweeted that NASCAR will let the 48 team fix the car to where the specs need to be and all of the other Hendrick cars have passed inspection.

Geez, what number time is this? I can't stand how they always let them get away with it.

in all honesty, it seems pretty fair to me. if a car is out of regulation a week and a half before the race, there is no reason to ban them from changing it in time. I could see that if it were right before qualifying or something, but the race is still a long way away

They're not gonna ban him from fixing it, but they might get a penalty. Although, the last time this team cheated at Daytona, they got no points penalty, and ended up winning the race.

This. A couple days from race day is one thing. We are a week and change away from the 500. Should be punished, but not that harshly

Seeing as they didn't gain anything in the form of points, wins or poles, I hardly see the need for such reaction. Even more, this happened before practice (Not after like last time) so I doubt the penalty will be any worse then fines.

I'd honestly be surprised if it was much of a fine. I expect it will be somewhere in the range of $5 - 10K and start the Duel race from the back

But Knaus was suspended for 4 races.

He suspended for altering the car after practice(which was way after it was approved in pre-practice tech inspection).
