A little preview of my next project/how it is going.
Thoughts on what it might be?

No guesses are correct although the pizza idea wouldn't be bad if i were to use a pizza sponsor.
It's a motor oil sponsor. I think the colours would narrow it down significantly.

I was thinking a John Force replica. But, same sponsor same diff.
Re: A little preview of my next project/how it is going.
Castrol Syntec? :p Or perhaps a retro GTX scheme? That base reminds me of the Castrol Mugen Accords in the front:p

I actually thought it was Quaker State the first time I looked at it, but Quaker State and Castrol have similar color schemes, so I suppose it could work either way.

The scheme's based off the Mugen Accord in terms of color scheme. However, I'm attempting to make a Castrol Lycoia TM-GT car as an example of what I can do with the modified template.
YES NAVY COOK ITS PENNZOIL (funny that you're saying that, I even considered replicating the JGTC Pennzoil Skyline scheme but decided not to since I didn't feel like painting a yellow or black scheme.)
If it was a Quaker State car, I'd probably make it all green, with white and a little bit of gold added to it.

I finally got the stripes lined up, so gonna start working on the side and rear lines (probably gonna take me a couple hours to get the lines and align them properly.)
And if you're wondering why the car isn't black like in the last render, i forgot to put the car colour back on before i posted the jpg to Ten0rs so yeah.

Re: A little preview of my next project/how it is going.
I would recommend getting the asa90 carviewer files, so you don't have to reupload each attempt to ten0r's to see how they line up.
Once you download the ASA90 car viewer files from here do the following.
Make two copies, have the original backed up somewhere, and the one you will use somewhere you can access it easily.
Once you make a change to your car, when you save your car:
Save As ---> ASA90 (Tbird) ---> card.bmp
DO NOT CLOSE GIMP, you can still make changes to the car as long as you don't close Gimp, now, open carviewer, go to file and open up directx mesh
Remember where you saved that card.bmp?
Go to that folder, it should have an x file named Thunderbird, or something along those lines. Double click it and it should pop up with your car.
Now, once you make changes, just hit save, go back to carviewer and hit file, refresh current texture
This should save you time in the long run and once you are satisfied with the base or the entire car, then save the file as a .xcf or .psd, then save it as a .png, use paint to convert the .png to .jpg for better quality.

Alright, thanks for the tips Greg (can I call you Greg?)
Only reason why I made so many Ten0r's requests is that I don't have Carviewer on my comp at the moment (cause I had a HDD failure about a couple months ago so I'm trying to deal with getting all my programs back online.)

Yes, everyone else pretty much calls me that, except from the occasional squidward and Madrigal calling me Woodward.
Oh and not to forget Glee Woodard, for that if you call me, I shall hunt you down and send you to sleep with the piranhas

Re: A little preview of my next project/how it is going.
The side stripes didn't take as long to align, took about a couple renders to get it right but i got it.
Next up, getting the rear right.
Yes, I could've used carviewer but I don't know how to set it up properly so yeah.

Saw this on Ten0r's, as I'm on there at school about every day since they block EFR. It's lookin' good, keep it up!

Thanks for the encouragement , I'm currently working on getting a Castrol logo for the side of the car to use.

Re: A little preview of my next project/how it is going.
After getting carviewer set up, i found out that the base i made was off. And by a little bit. That will not do. So i decided to scrap the majority of the base (save the front end and castrol logos i had put on the side of the car) and redo the side stripes and start the back. I will only work on the side stripes since i need to do various other things such as homework.
