This is the topic for mine and Rykia's VSCC team for the 2012 season.

Drivers:
#86-Ryan Gregory/Jake Wareru
#156-Michael More Jr.

Owners: Jim More (day500champ1, myself), and Ike Durbin(Rykia_RKXK)

New Crew Chief Hired for More Jr. for '12 season, currently Crew Chief will become Director of Competition

Jim More is wasting little time is getting things ready for the 2012 VSCC season. More has hired Jason Borland to replace the #156's cars current crew chief Mike Hamlin. Borland was the crew chief on the #38 in the ARLA Elite Series this past year. More Jr. has worked with Borland in the past while More Jr. was running in the HAILS rookie series.

Meanwhile, Hamlin will be moved to the Director of Competition position for M&D Motorsports.

More to team: "Car Safety Development #1 Priority going into 2012"

With 2012 still a ways away, Jim More, co-owner of M&D Motorsports, gave a direct message to his VSCC team engineers as well as the engineers on his other teams. Car Safety is the #1 priority.

After a season that saw the near-fatal wrecks of Woody Watts and Leslie Riggs and the deaths of Scott Hamilton and most recently Kristian Jankovick, More is taking no chances with this upcoming racing season.

"Safety should be the #1 priority in motorsports even with me saying it. I really want our teams to make sure that our cars are built strong and reliable but also safe. We have even made a deal with an auto supplier to use there testing ground to make sure these cars are safe."

More has extra incentive to make sure his car are safe. He is set to compete part-time in the ARLA Elite Series this upcoming year.

Gregory and Wareru to split time in the 86

It was announced weeks ago that Ryan Gregory would drive the 86 for M&D Motorsports. Schedule was unknown, however. Ike Durbin announced this morning that the 2010 driver of the 86, and 2011 Director of Competition, Jake Wareru, would co-drive the 86. "This decision was made when Mike (Hamlin) was moved to DoC," Ike Durbin says, "and I think it will work out very well. I want to get Ryan (Gregory) experience, but I also want him to be in the best situation possible, O.P. wise."

While the schedules are unknown, Durbin says he will have Wareru race the first two or three races, to give the 86 the best shot to be locked in. Gregory will likely run most of the rest of thhe schedule, with a possible race here or there for Wareru.

Two Crew Members Fired for Violating Team's Substance Abuse Policy

M&D has yet to begin the 2012 season and already controversy has arisen. Yesterday, two crew members, names have been withheld for privacy reasons, were fired after testing positive for controlled substances. While the results of the tests are not being reveled, it is rumored that the substances were illegal in nature.

Jim More released this statement concerning the incident:
"This is a professional race team. I will not tolerate people that don't act and behave in a professional manner. Those that want to work for this team are going to learn that. These men unfortunately had to learn the hard way."

Police Called to M&D shop after altercation between Team Owner and Shop Employee

Details are sketchy, but a news report from a local news outlet seems to confirm that M&D Motorsports co-owner, Jim More, and a shop employee were involved in physical altercation this morning.

While the details of what caused the altercation or if any injuries were suffered by either party haven't been substantiated, an official release from the team is expected.

Neither the Michigan State Police or the race team has yet to confirm or deny the reports.
