- MSR @ Mosport:
- Master Sport Racing fails to finish at Mosport
Full time driver, Alexa Lake, and part-time driver Wes Maret, in replacement for you know who, both failed to finish at Mosport.
On Saturday, it appeared as if racing at Mosport would be rain plagued......would turn out to be the case, only, far worse. Poor visibility, slippery pavement, among other things caused qualifying for Lake and Maret to be uneventful. Lake would chime in a slower than intended lap at 16th place grid spot. Her part-time teammate, Maret, qualified 16 more positions down on Lake in 32nd.
Race day came, and rain proved to be an evil aspect to Lake and Maret's race. Lake, who was doing rather well, and climbing in position would suddenly have a tyre go down, and she would be sent into the wall eventually garnering her a suspension failure around lap 19. She would finish 32nd.
Maret seemingly was MSR's last ditch effort to gain some respect and points out of the race, and Maret, who was a lap down, and involved in a wall slapping, was chugging along as he could do with his underpowered LI6 engine. He would go out from around the top 25 after a car hit the pit wall and into Maret's path. Maret slid into him causing a radiator puncture and that would send Maret out.
This is the first race that Master Sport Racing with both drivers, would not finish. You will see Lake again for the Mattox Weather Shield Dirty Dash at 70/77. Hopefully, she will have the luck she had last week!

- Conststancy is key for RFR in Mosport:
With double points at stake, and a few dubious results, Forest got a breath of fresh air, oddly enough in a race plagued by torrential downpour. With Road Course experience under his belt, the short track veteran took advantage of his points adversaries misfortune, and despite finishing a lap down, came away with a top 3, and valuable points toward the championship.
Rick Forest afterwards had to say,"We had a good car here in Mosport, and simply outlasted the others, plain and simple."

- Timothy Ruiz get top 15 in Mosport:
- After taking that 2 race break, Timothy Ruiz returned to the track, looking a bit calmer at the start. However,
what seemed to be a good top 10 finished, it was ruined when Ruiz spun around and dropped to 13th. Ruiz after the race didn't have anyone to blame but himself, saying "I felt stupid for not making that turn. I told my team that I'm at fault for this race." Timothy did have one thing going for him as a few hours after the race, Polito's announced that they will continue the contract as plan and will support him till the contract runs out at the end of the 2019 season. However, they do have an option to extend it for 3 more years. So if Ruiz impress them enough, he could be good till 2022. Again, it's a wait and see. Ruiz will be set to run the next race before taking a race off.
