More Silly Season News: Kasey Kahne will not be returning to Hendrick next year.

Guess that victory at Indy didn't save his job at HMS after all.

He was gone the second William Byron hit the track in the Xfinity Series. It was just a question of how long they'd make him wait to get the ride.

I'd all but pencil Byron in the 5 next season.

Kahne was pretty underwhelming in the 5 the last few years, so I'm not really surprised by this.

Not sure if Byron is ready for Cup (if he does get the ride) but only time will tell.

Am I surprised it happened, no. Do I think Byron is ready for Cup, no. I think this is just the next step for Byron to get into Cup even though I have a great feeling he will fall flat on his face.

Yep...

Is Byron ready for Cup...no...but neither was Erik Jones or Daniel Suarez...Suarez has 1 top 5 and 8 top 10s while Jones is closely behind him with 1 top 5 and 7 top 10s.

I think those are the results you can expect to see out of Byron.
