Qualifying was split into two rounds. The first round, containing all cars, was 20 minutes in length. The second round, containing the top twenty drivers from the first round, lasted 10 minutes. Joha Vovicic was put into the barriers by Daryl Lorenz with 5 minutes left in the session, and with no backup was forced to withdraw from the event even though he DNQ'd. Leonid Chernov lost an engine as well, but set a lap time quick enough to make the second round of qualifying. He did not partake in the second session, and due to an engine change will start at the rear of the field. Two additional entries, the Tamm Racing BMWs to be driven by Andrus Tamm and Jordan Honeycott, were scheduled to qualify, but the team withdrew two days before qualifying, citing issues acquiring a visa for Honeycott.

It is clear the 51 [Antonen] was not using his car at full potential and that must be fixed immediately.
