Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200 presented by Jive
ARCA heads to Indianapolis this weekend for a 200 lap race at Lucas Oil Raceway. Points leader Chase Briscoe is on a roll with two consecutive victories right now, scoring wins at Winchester and Iowa. Will Briscoe be able to score his third straight victory, or will someone like second in points Josh Williams steal away the win? Perhaps an ARCA veteran like Tom Hessert, who is trying to end a nearly two year long winless drought, could pull off an upset and win. Or maybe Parker Kligerman, a former ARCA championsip runner-up who returns to ARCA this week to sub for an injured John Wes Townley. One thing is for certain, at a race like this, anything can happen.
Some mid-season silly season notes.
- Kyle Weatherman, who is currently third in points, is not entered for this race. Weatherman lost his ride when Lira Motorsports went under, and has been running the last few races for Mason Mitchell Motorsports and Fast Track Racing.
- Bo LeMastus, currently tenth in points, is also not running. LeMastus and his team, Crosley Sports Group, have left ARCA entirely and sold the #42 car's owners points to Glad Racing, who have renumbered the team to #56 and hired Josh Reeves to drive the car.
- Wayne Peterson's team has been working with Hauck Enterprises, which runs the #31 car part time with Richard Hauck driving. Hauck has driven the #0 for Peterson the last few weeks.
- Hamilton-Hughes Racing, the three car team co-founded by former NASCAR driver Bobby Hamilton Jr., has gone under. The #64 car, which was running under a partnership between HHR and Hixson Motorsports, is now listed under the Hixson team name.
The entry list currently stands at 34 cars.

The #69 is a Lira car that was bought by Kimmel. Literally same scheme and sponsors. This will be interesting.
Hamilton Hughes was pretty much dead already, this Hixson thing is just nere formality at this point.

Only caught the end of the race but there was still plenty of racing to see. I'm really glad that they air this track on TV. To me it consistently produces some of the best racing that ARCA puts on all year (among the races that are aired on TV, at least; I can't compare it to any of the other tracks).
