New A1GP style championship?
http://www.acceleration-online.com/news/index.php/en/
Looks like a group called Acceleration have opened up a new series of European events in a similar style to A1GP. Included on the bill are nation-based series for 600cc and 1000cc bikes, Utes, Legends and the old Lola-Zytek A1 GP car which I assume were bought off Coloni from the AutoGP series who have now adopted new chassis.
Some countries included are the UK, USA, Italy and some others. Seems the events are also aimed to involve some big name musical groups alongside the racing-Rick Astley has apparently been confirmed David Hasselhoff has even apparently been signed to host it all...
Some fairly large names involved as well. Drivers that have supposedly become involved are Felix Rosenqvist (FIA F3 runner-up), John Bryant-Meisner (German F3 race winner), Meindert van Buuren (shit AutoGP driver with enough money to buy New York), Nigel Melker (6th in FR3.5 this year), Daniel de Jong (another shit AutoGP and GP2 driver), Steijn Schothorst (FR2.0 race winner) and Oli Webb (shit FR3.5 driver and decent sportscar driver).
Quite an interesting concept, but is adding to the cluttered mess of junior single seaters in Europe; Formula 3, GP2, GP3, AutoGP, Formula 4, Formula Abarth, Formula Renault 2.0/3.5...my god.
AND NO BRITISH ROUND EITHER! That means no WTCC, no AutoGP, no FR3.5 either...what a shame!
