Japanese Grand Prix - Formula 1

Sebastian Vettel can clinch the world driver's championship this weekend if he has more than a 100-point lead with five races to go this season. He did clinch the championship here at Suzuka Circuit in 2011. He is riding a 4-race winning streak and 77 points above Fernando Alonso. Can someone stop the Red Bull in Japan? Who knows?

I honestly regret missing the Korean Grand Prix last weekend, seeing as from other accounts, it was a pretty entertaining race.

In regards to Vettel, we pretty much already know the outcome of this year's World Driver's Championship, so instead of paying attention to Vettel (who I think is a pretty cool guy), I'm going to pay attention to the battles for the podium and further down along the grid. That way, I'm not going to be depressed over just one aspect of the race. Hülkenberg has been a monster lately, so it should be pretty interesting to see how he finishes out the year with Sauber.

If Vettel wins and Alonso finishes 9th or worse it's over.

Poor Grosjean. Leads the most laps, and still comes in 3rd.

I really hope Lotus decides to fire whoever's in charge of doing pit strategies by the end of this season.

Good win Vettel, but Alonso finishes fourth, so Vettel will have to wait until the next race at India to win his fourth straight title.

Once they figure out how to do a strategy that doesn't shoot themselves in the foot, he will.

Its really disgusting to see how Red Bull "allows" Vettel to win all he wants. Why I hate and have ZERO respect for Red Bull as a whole. I hope Riccardo crumbles next season.

So we get Eddie Jordan instead of Kamui Kobayashi and/or Takii Inoue? What is going on in the TV production office these days?

I feel gutted for Grosjean. Taking a risk bit them again.

Vettel is only 26 years old, and he has 36 wins and is all but assured a fourth straight championship.

I think, if he keeps this up, he might eclipse the win and championship marks of Michael Schumacher, which were once thought to be unreachable.

Alonso has passed Schumi to become F1's newest all-time leading points scorer.

As if the Lotus had the race pace to hold off Vettel anyway. 2nd was the best Grosjean could do in the circumstances. At least we know we have another driver who could take the fight to Vettel in the right situation.

But if Webber stayed out on old tires, and something happens to Webber on those old tires, Red Bull caused Webber to lose the race as well, right?!?

The way the radio broadcasts went made it seem that they organised for Webber to fall behind through pitstops. He would have been passed on track in any case, just taking the bite out of the battle
