Never expected this. Was this a rumor before or was it a completely unexpected decision by him? Really gonna miss him on the track too.

There's been some rumblings that he might leave F1 at the end of the season.

Honestly, this is the best move for him. He's clearly not been enjoying F1 as much this year. Puts Red Bull in a bit of a bind, though: Either they take on one of the sub-par Toro Rosso drivers, or they'll likely have a hard time convincing Dietrich Mateschitz that their massive driver academy is worth a damn.

I don't think so. With Red Bull's sole purpose being to sell Red Bull, I don't think Kimi will want to put up with all that PR nonsense - that's why he left in the first place, after all.

I heard about this a few months back but I am surprised he went for this option. Unfortunately the favoritism and dictatorship of Red Bull has annoyed to the point where he no longer enjoys being with the team, so I hope he screws Vettel over for the remainder of the year.

I'm not surprised one bit that Webber will be leaving Red Bull, especially after the whole Multi-21 fiasco at Malaysia. It's a shame that one of the good guys will be gone from Formula 1, but I look forward to him driving for Porsche in the World Endurance Championship and at Le Mans. Honestly, as much as I like Daniel Ricciardo, I don't see either him or Jean-Eric Vergne being ready enough for Red Bull's number 2 seat. At the same time, I also can't see Kimi Räikkönen wanting to be a part of Red Bull, as I don't think they'll be as laid-back as Lotus is. Also, he doesn't want to be a part of the PR stuff that comes with Red Bull, as RetrogradeRenegade stated earlier. Even if Vettel and Räikkönen are considered friends, I don't seem them getting along real well at Red Bull. That's my opinion, and stranger things have happened before, so I really don't know what's going to happen. Razz

Not with his record in FR3.5 this year. Right now he's being majorly shown up by Stoffel Vandoorne and Kevin Magnussen.

Who both also happen to be Mclaren youth academy drivers.

And? He's still not been performing to expectations. Hell, even if he did win the title, I'd want to give him a year at Toro Rosso first.
