Man of Steel (MOS) review... SPOILERS
Majorly disappointed...
I went to see this with my 15 year old daughter. We both had high hopes going in and man were we both hugely disappointed. After it was over, she turned to me and said, "There were a lot of things I really didn't like" and I said "Sorry to say but I hated it."
Wow! What a loud, noisy headache of a movie. Like on that SpongeBoB SquarePants episode where Squidward says that maybe if they play loud people will think they're good.
It was like Micheal Bay's mind numbing version of Transformers with absolutely no redeeming character development.
I also kept thinking of The Incredibles when the costume lady told Mr. Incredible "no capes."
Lois Lane was weak and unbelievable as a pushy investigative reporter and Superman/Clark had no true screen presence. Add that with no chemistry between the 2 leads and it was a complete snoozer. It was as if this most precious relationship was a complete afterthought.
I hated the Krypton version they went with and they neutered Zod as a compelling villain by removing his proper Machiavellian nature to subjugate all to his will.
Don't even get me started on Pa Kent...
The score was bland with no seminal Superman-esque signature moments.
The dialogue was lame and the fights stagey and woodenly executed-- they felt mostly like padding.
It seemed to be choppily edited and hastily spliced together-- especially near the end as one moment didn't seem to flow into the next with abrupt and stark differences in mood and tone. It was like a "We shot all this extra footage so let's find a place to stick it in there somewhere whether if fits or not" type of attitude.
It was in a word... pretty...well... boring. There are many other things I could mention, and I may later, but right now, I don't have the inclination.
I tend to disengage when CGI characters battle it out ad nauseam. Not to mention that you pretty much couldn't follow or see what was happening most of the time.
Sorry if you don't like my opinions of this movie, but I just can't recommend it.
Summation -- MOS = POS.

Looking at other places on the 'Net, it seems that you're not alone...
