Here we are at Darlington AKA The Kurt Busch Radio Sweetheart 500.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Almirola gets win one.

Even though I wasn't a fan of NASCAR until 2007, I don't think that a Southern 500 race in the middle of May is the same as the traditional Labor Day weekend Southern 500. I'm probably not one to talk; it just doesn't seem very fitting to me. :s

Brian has confirmed to me on Facebook That he will not be running, so all 43 cars entered will race.

I, too, would love to see that! I know it's Darrel Waltrip, but I find it hard to believe he mentioned Almirola as one of the names that could contend for the win last week just because it was a superspeedway. He's 7th in points!

I believe Almirola will be the next first time winner. However, I don't think he will win at Darlington.

More likely than not, but who knows? Regan Smith won there 2 years ago with a previous best finish of 17th.

I also did a little research; Smith and Lake Speed are the only drivers in 60+ years that have gotten their maiden wins at Darlington.

Darlington Raceway requires driver skill more than anything. Regan Smith got his first win at that track 2 years ago so I don't why Almirola should get his first win their too.

And that's two years in a row the Southern 500 has failed to produce any sort of buzz. Other than Kahne getting the slightest of bumps from Boosh while racing for the lead, this race was kind of...... meh.

The Bojangles Southern 500 @ Darlington gets a 3.5/10.

Oh and Kenseth has more wins in the 20, within 11 races, then Logano had in 4 years.

I'm fine with Darlington having one date. I just think that date should be on Labor Day Weekend.

Someone know what happened to Kurt Busch? I'm surprised he finished right down to 14th from the pole, I would've thought he could be a contender for the win.

The race last night was a complete and borderline disappointment, but Kenseth....man!!! He's on it. On a scale of 1-10 of this race, definitely a 1.
