Tbh, I'm kinda fearing someone is gonna get killed in this race, considering the drama we saw in the season opener at Daytona.

I also Have a Feeling That Some Backmarker Like Bowman or Nemechek or Jeffery Earnherdt is gonna win this.

Are we watching the same series? Cause last time I checked, Bowman isn't a backmarker.

Re: Aarons 312 @ Talladega
This could be a fantastic race. As Eric McClure and Robert Richardson demonstrated at Daytona this year, some of the minnows can run up front at the superspeedways. But it could also be a very dangerous race. Michael Annett and Eric McClure had awful close calls.

The fence has been updated, so no fan casualties. The drivers though, tough call...

From why I've heard, I believe Kurt Busch is running a retro Neil Bonnett car for Phoenix Racing this weekend at Talladega.
Re: Aarons 312 @ Talladega
cool to see Johanna has a possible drafting partner in David Green (if he doesn't park) but... who's gonna be Jo's spotter if Green is racing?

All of the Motorsports Group cars (except for the 40), and the #27 car have been withdrawn. David Green has moved to the the #00, and Jason White has been moved to the #24.

I think that could be why. He doesn't want to risk a season ending injury.

I don't know what's more sad, The fact that Kyle Busch is wimping out Mike Conway style cause of a meanie superspeedway race that won't stop him from running the rest of the Nationwide season, Or the fact that Nascar has come to the point of danger again where people are scared to race.Alpineopossum wrote:I think that could be why. I'm going to pass the conspiracy theory stuff and just say that he just wants to give someone a chance to race, but that's just me.
Also, Blake Koch just said on Facebook that he currently has no ride for this weekend.

Surprised no one else noticed that we have two Dodges on the entry list. Harmon and Shepherd are both running a Dodge.

Why does everyone now think Superspeedways are deathtraps? Granted we saw McClure wreck in a freak crash last season, And Daytona was just strange. But does that mean someone is going to get killed? Heck, I honestly would be suprised if there is another injury this week.

It's also because of the new cars, they're faster than last year... Annett had what looked like a harmless crash, he ended with a broken bone (idk what is it called)

I agree with this, they are overreacting. Any other driver would have walked away from McClure's wreck ok. McClure just happens to be made from Porcelain.

Seems like these cars are weak on protection from frontal collisions, which is ironic since the last person in Nascar to die was from a front collision and this is what they've been trying to avoid.

Travis Pastrana won the pole. Yes. Travis Pastrana. Stanton Barrett and John Wes Townley are the DNQ's after JWT failed post qualifying inspection for the second time this weekend. Tim Andrews is the beneficiary.

Is it still raining at Talladega right now? Because if it is, they might have to postpone the Nationwide Race until probably tomorrow morning.
