8 people voted for Gordon, 8 people confirmed for fan boying.

Re: Federated Auto Parts 400 @ Richmond
I understand some take being a Gordon fan a little to seriously, but that's quite the asshole-ish thing to say and clearly you didn't think it through when posting this. Gordon makes the most sense out of everyone of the potential people who are on the outside looking in. If he didn't have the crappy luck he's had this season he would be easily top 3 in points, He's had a fast car constantly and has been more relevant on-track wise then anyone trying to make it into the chase.Spannerhead29 (Nelson) wrote:8 people voted for Gordon, 8 people confirmed for fan boying.

Also i think Kyle making it in is more priority to Gibbs then Logano....So Logano confirmed for done.

It may just be my fanboyism talking, but I think Newman has a decent shot at winning this. Tracks like this and New Hampshire are often his best.

None of these drivers I don't think will win Saturday night. That being said Kyle will beat Jeff and get in. That being said that doesn't mean someone couldn't pull a Hail Mary Mayfield move and win the race.

That would require the race to have cautionsday500champ1 wrote:None of these drivers I don't think will win Saturday night. That being said Kyle will beat Jeff and get in. That being said that doesn't mean someone couldn't pull a Hail Mary Mayfield move and win the race.

Kyle Busch has a better chance. A 12 point gap isn't impossible to make up but with both Gordon and Busch running well it will be.
Gordon needs to win the race so that he doesn't have to worry about points at all. Otherwise it's probably Shrub making the Chase.
Also, weak troll Nelson.

Other than his qualifying prowess, which has fallen off in recent years, his '08 Daytona 500 win, and his 8-win season in 2003, Newman hasn't really done anything worthwhile. Sure, he gets wins here and there, but he's never really been able to attain the superstar status that guys like Junior, Gordon, Martin, Kez, Edwards and Harvick have attained.

I think Kyle Busch will get in. Look at how well he's done at Richmond over the past 3 or 4 years. The only people that can possibly get into the Chase are Gordon, Kahne or Busch. Newman, Menard and Ambrose aren't even possibilities.

I still wonder if Dale Jr. is wondering about Jeff Gordon fighting for the final wild car spot? I don't think Dale Jr had to win this race, he's in contention for the title, whereas Gordon needs to win this race do he can get himself into the chase with the Final Wild Card.

So I decided to go to the official NASCAR website to see how long the rain was going to delay the start of the race and this is what I read:
7:03 p.m. ET -- ABC is showing the conclusion of the USC-Syracuse college football during the rain delay. One of the announcers just asked if Danica Patrick was in The Chase. Oh, dear...

Sad thing is they actually did ask that. They also weren't sure how many drivers made the Chase or if Danica had won this year or not..
Re: Federated Auto Parts 400 @ Richmond
Even if it were to stop raining soon, wouldn't it take at least 2 hours to dry the track, even though it's less than a mile in length?
Needless to say, I expect a postponement announcement sooner rather than later. I believe there's another band of rain behind this one.

Engines getting fired at 9:15 (20 mins from this post). There are other bands of rain coming towards the Richmond area, so it could be dicey as to whether or not we get the full distance in, as the bands look thick enough to cause an extended period of rain and lose the track, and if that happens, there's absolutely no doubt that they will not get the track back to finish the event tonight.

So, far, Kyle would be in and Jeff out. Sounds like they'll make it to halfway. So this race would be official.
Re: Federated Auto Parts 400 @ Richmond
Yeah, the biggest threat to the race is drifting out to the right. There is a smaller band of rain headed for the track though, might take some time to get there.
