You know, I'm not joking but my heart will break if ARCA were to shut down all together. That Series is one step for young drivers to get up to the top racing levels of NASCAR, and they wouldn't race if it weren't for ARCA.
If it were to shut down, it would probably be revived in one way or another at some point. And if not, we would still have the K&N Pro Series or the Modifieds for new drivers.
Unlike ARCA, the K&N Pro Series' really only run at tracks as long as 1.5 miles or lower. ARCA runs at Daytona and Talladega, the K&N Pro Series doesn't do that as it may be a precaution for any drivers young or old in their Series who don't usually race a bigger tracks or restrictor plate tracks.

Nascarboy426 wrote:The thing is with ARCA that when RE/MAX left as a sponsor, Menards only came aboard as presenting sponsor, and the purses took a huge cut. Hence more financial troubles among teams.
So the series needs a Sponsor that can fulfill the spot vacated by Remax. Of course, that means they will somehow have to sell the idea real well to to a sponsor but when you have that giant other stock series that most sponsors pay far more attention to, thats gonna make for a very hard sell.

Two things are killing the series

why couldn't half the garage?
1.) Not sure thats a valid one since there technically hasn't been any series that wasn't in some way affected by the economy
2.) Problem with this is that there is also the K&N Pro series, which also runs those cars (all of which are far better looking).
Also, running the COTS won't help as those cars are from what I hear far more expensive to run then the old car. What needs to happen is as I said before, ARCA needs a sponsor to fill that spot that Remax once held and then this purses can go back up. Actually right about now, the series needs much better marketing overall so it can attract more money to the series to keep it afloat. It would also help, at least I think it would, for the sake of TV coverage if alot of the field didn't have cars that look run down. I mean come on, it can't be that costly to fix the bodies to a much better standard and have numbers not taped on or flip-flopped (Hell, get some stencils and go to a bodyshop to have then painted on if that helps). I sorta wonder if thats the main reason Speed will Never show a full season of ARCA.
Re: The Jayski Copypasta Thread
It will be intresting to see how many teams will convert to the K&N Pro series.

Re: The Jayski Copypasta Thread
My only guess is for SPEED Channel to broadcast all the K&N Pro Series if ARCA does go bankrupt. And also just making a simple question here, but is the K&N Pro Series races really great to watch?

Their races are better than most Cup races.

That sounds pretty cool, and also how big are the grids every race?

Both divisions (East and West) average about 20-30 cars per race.

Hmmm, maybe this Series does sounds good to me (cos' I haven't really watch much of it before).

Front Row Motorsports will retain Wise, Ragan, and Gilliland and according to their press release "are on track for the most competitive season ever". With a mediocre guy in the 38 and the other two cars filled by two terrible drivers, I can't see this team going anywhere. But at least they'll be back.

Front Row always bothered me. Besides one perticular scheme, the rest have either been white with a sponsor slapped on it, or ugly. I hope they do a better job in making their cars noticeable. Maybe if they hire a driver who would get time on TV. For Example, Elliot Sadler. They would help themeselves alot.
But in reality, why are they a three car team if they can't get any of them to break the top 25? They should cut down to 2 or maybe 1 car, and put all of their money that way. Dear god help me when I say this, Fire Wise and Gilliland, and run David Regan in it.

Re: The Jayski Copypasta Thread
I get the feeling that a Team owned by the owner of Long Johns and Taco Bell Chains (and has no history in racing aside from the short existance since 2005) doesn't give two craps about who is a good driver.
Re: The Jayski Copypasta Thread
ARCA driver James Hylton was involved in a serious car wreck while transporting his hauler down to Daytona for the ARCA test session. Hylton's hauler has been destroyed and his car has taken damage. Thankfully, Hylton and the two other crew members in the hauler are all okay. The car in the hauler is reported to be Hylton's primary car for the Daytona ARCA race in February, but the team expects that they will be able to repair by then.
On to some not as serious news from the ARCA world, as ARCA series officials have announced that the age restrictions at Pocono Raceway and Kentucky Speedway have been lowered from 18 to 17. This means that 17-year-old drivers can attempt up to 16 races on the ARCA schedule. Field limits have been changed as well. The season opening race at Daytona will see 40 cars make the race. However, all other races will have only 36. All races will have the same qualifying format, where the top 30 fastest cars get in, with remaining spots decided by provisionals.
Meanwhile, ARCA ran some testing yesterday. John Wes Townley was fastest in the first session, while newcomer Justin Boston was fastest in the second session. Both were driving Venturini Motorsports cars.

Everything in bold is my prediction based on these reasons:
-Lofton still brings money in the form of his family's Cattle business and has proven to be more then capable
-Could be mistaken, but I could've sworn Peters has the support of Strutmasters.com
-Well, I just can't see this team getting rid of Jason, he's basically the only guy thats driven for them for...ever as far as I know
-Pretty sure Ryan's officially a Penske driver and henceforth, now in that 29.
-Turner would be a complete moron to dump not only a driver that just won a championship for him, but one also married to his daughter.

This whole chart makes me want to do this.
For starters, Venturini's armada. Justin Boston is running the 25 full time. He is the only full time driver for Venturini so far. Brennan Poole is expected to leave. Nelson Canache might leave, and John Wes Townley has a Truck Series ride. Moving on to Cunningham, Alex Bowman is leaving reportedly for a part time deal with Turner Motorsports in NASCAR, and Cunningham has signed Austin Self to drive the car. He won't run all the races though, so someone like Tom Hessert will run the remaining races. Continuing on to CGH Motorsports, they have a few drivers they are looking at, Mason Mitchell is not one of them. He will drive the #32 for Win-Tron full time this season, which was announced today. Besides these drivers, plus Kimmel, Buescher, Lofton, and Gallagher, there's really no one else that will for sure run full time. There of course are teams that say they will run full time, but probably won't because their either brand new, underfunded, or both.

I was thinking that Buescher could move to the Nationwide Series.

Nevermind all those different first time winners (including that incredible finish at Homestead Miami) or the fact that the series has more balls to change S*** up in the schedule unlike a certain "Top" series.
Re: The Jayski Copypasta Thread
Most of the time I can't watch Trucks, usually it's not broadcast on free TV near me
