Also, the backspace key does wonders. On another note, still waiting for Caterham's first points.

Nascar doesn't call the Atlanta race the "Round of Atlanta". I'm not sure what it's called, but let's just call it Atlanta.
Back on topic now... Hungary has been a pretty good race the past few seasons.

Still the worst race on the schedule imo. Instead of Belgium switching with France, it should Hungary switching with France.Cynon wrote:AntmanB wrote:the nascar round of atlanta. that same weekend - in Belhium. should have been more Clearer, sorry.

I believe you're forgetting Valencia, Buddh, Yeongam, Yas Marina, Marina Bay and Sakhir.

Re: Hungary GP
Valencia was actually quite decent this year, Buddh's only had 1 race and it wasn't half-bad, Yeongam I actually like, Yas Marina was awesome in 2010, Marina Bay I will agree with you that, as well as Sakhir. Maybe what I'm saying is Hungary is the European track.Milan655 wrote:Spannerhead29 (Nelson) wrote:Still the worst race on the schedule imo. Valencia was "decent" because of the tyres. Pirelli have managed to make each race supposedly "exciting" but I'd call it unpredictable and stupid..

I thought Hungaroring was butchered when they reprofiled the 1st turn. The orignal layout was actually kind of cool. Does anyone know why they made the first turn sharper?

I'm not sure, but I think it was to improve overtaking - tighter corners are better for that, constant radius 180s not so much. It has pretty much done its job, though, so I'm interested to hear why you think that was butchering the track - it's not like it's ever been a classic or anything.

Re: Hungary GP
This is the race that could decide which drivers are in proper contention for the title.

Well maybe it could have a big affect in the race for the title. I mean Hamilnotb needs to up his game in this race otherwise his championship chances are in serious trouble. Despite Buttob getting second in Germany, the McLarens have really fallen off the pace halfway through the season whether it's the drivers fault or the cars fault, or even the pit crews fault.

I always liked the flowing first turn that Hungaroring had, I thought it made the track flow better. It's not like the track is a huge overtaking track, but It was a step to the left of the 90 degree or 180 degree first turns like we see nowadays. Compared to the newer F1 Tracks, the first turn was very different. I consider it a classic of sorts mainly because it has been on the schedule since the 80's. Formula 1 is going to so many butchered up, "modern" tracks, that it is classic compared to the Tilkedromes we are used to seeing.

Re: Hungary GP
starting grid in this link:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/results/9713593.stm
Lewis Hamilton was fastest in Q1, Q2 and Q3. He could be one to watch as could Romain Grosjean, Vettel, Button and others.

Well Schumi stalled on the grid, fell a lap down and got a drive through in the span of 5 laps.

Boo Hamilton! Wanted either Raikkonen or Grosjean to pull that off.
Kind of a meh race overall. Not a lot happening till the end of the race.

Alta, it's HUNGARY. Is it safe to expect a good race from it? NO. It never has been, but the past two or three years weren't so bad to be fair.
Loved the hard racing between the Lotus boys.
