Approved by Ceej.

Midwest Dirt Trucks

The Midwest Dirt Trucks is the new banner of the former National Dirt Trucks, sanctioning races at the midwest of the United States. Several semi-pro and amateur drivers try their abilities at the local dirt tracks in America.

schedule:

---------------------------------------------

Signup Rules/Guidelines

Copy and paste this sheet and fill it to enter a team in 2015 or bring a returning squad

Code:
[b]Driver Name[/b]:
[b]Race(s) [i](if part-time)[/i][/b]:
[b]Age[/b]:
[b]Home Town and State/Province[/b]:
[b]Car Number[/b]:
[b]Sponsors [i](small and fictional, [b]ONLY[/b][/i])[/b]:
[b]Manufacturer (Saar/Lycoia/Isanni/Kanako/Unbadged)[/b]:
[b]Team Name[/b]:
[b]Team Location[/b]:
[b]Driver's Past Experience[/b]:
[b]Trivia and Notes[/b]:

--- The "Races" section is where you list the tracks where a part-time driver will be racing. If the driver is full-time, write "All" or "Full-Time" in that section.
--- Numbers can be triple-digit, and have letters, as well.
--- The minimum age is 15
--- As this is a local series, all of the drivers should reside in Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Ohio and Illinois. Some drivers from Ontario or Wyoming may be accepted, too.
--- Full-time drivers cannot be competing full-time in any major racing championships (which includes all of the TM canon leagues that are run on this forum). Drivers who have previously competed full-time in major racing series may, however, race full-time (but again, they should be from the areas mentioned above). Some full-time major racing drivers can compete in this series part-time, but it should not be more than 1 or 2 events.
--- Part-time entries may partake in as many as 5 races. If a driver is part-time, list the races on the schedule that you would prefer that they appear at in the "Races" section. I will be entering a few part-timers that compete in only one race as weekly racers at that track. You may feel free to do so, as well, if you prefer.
--- Teams can have up to 2 full-time entries and up to 4 cars making the team's roster.

I will put accepted entries on the TMpedia page. Please do not send in any cars and/or ratings if your entry has not been accepted, and if your entry is not accepted, feel free to modify it!

Painting Information

This series utilizes the Smiffsden Pickup Truck mod for NR2003. I will accept .car files and .tga files, but nothing else. I have car converter, so physics don’t matter, but the cars will have .gns physics.

If you send in your ratings, then I can make a quick, generic car for your entry if you cannot get one made in time (or you can make a generic car, yourself), and I can begin to use your real car whenever I receive it. No contingencies are necessary, but if you use a tire decal, the series uses Duckroll.

TEMPLATE IS HERE

Ratings

nr ratings categories:

Ratings

There will be 3 car classes in the field. Your drivers will be seeded to each class according to their situation.

CLASS A - 60-80
- Local Drivers to a certain track and FARC drivers attempting Buffalo Downs

CLASS B - 40-60
- Regulars and non-fail drivers

CLASS F (you'll decide if your drivers are fail) - 0-60
- Fail Drivers

----------------------------------

You can send me drivers, schemes and ratings until February 1st.

We're indeed using the 2014 Truck Tour templates, the deadline for paint schemes and ratings will be in August 9, one month from now.

Below there's the ratings system (it's the one originally used on the first installment of the NDT; when it was ran by Ceej back in late 2008.)

You need to download the 2014 FARC Paint Kit, and use the Trucks template, the template comes with all the chassis allowed. Then for this series you need to get the contig set that is a few posts above.

When painting you'll have to turn off the Cylinder Count layer.

To send your ratings and car, you'll need to send me a PM until August 9

Here's the guide for the TM Canon, as I'm seeing that a lot of new users are joining the site:

https://efr1.forumotion.com/t3372-new-peoples-guide-to-the-tm-canon

Just to remind, please send me ratings, if you don't send me at least the ratings, your cars will be painfully slow.

FLATS/RATINGS SITUATION AS NOW (please send paints and ratings until August 9):

NOW THE SIGNUPS FOR FULL-TIME CARS IS OVER, I'LL BE ONLY ACCEPTING PART-TIMERS FROM NOW ON

No problem, as I said earlier, in the moment that I have your ratings, I'll have a generic car done.

My trucks are being painted, I'll send them as soon as I get the opportunity. August 6th is the due date correct?

Yes, August 6th, and again, I'm very strict to this rule. If I receive at least your ratings until August 6th, I can paint a quick generic car.

6 days to send ratings in, which is the only thing that matters really. Send me ratings, and I can paint a car.

Rosie Reese sponsorship is changing since Air Oregon hasn't been around since 1981. Her sponsor will now be Airblaster.

I've simplified the ratings system, it's still the same, but I made it easier to understand.

Any carviewer file for this mod available? I have 3 of 4 paints completed, but would like to fine tune some stuff if possible.

Do you happen to know what the proper file name/extension is to import it into the viewer?

Flats: No contigs, wireframe still on, logos chopped off, I can't accept them like that.

But, since I got your ratings, I can do a car for you.

Since part of the NR2003 dirt tracks basically suck. I have to re-do the schedule, here it is how it's going to be, following the new part-time effort rules:

1. DuQuoin Fairgrounds
2. Illinois State Fairgrounds
3. Knoxville Speedway
4. Minnesota Fairgrounds
5. Eldora
6. Grundy County
7. Terre Haute
8. Talladega Short Track
9. Ocala
10. Florida Fairgrounds
11. Drummond
12. Hamilton
13. Williams Grove Speedway
14. Orange County Fair Speedway
15. Canandaigua Speedway
16. Bristol

All races will be 50 lappers

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PART-TIME RULES

*All part timers are allowed to do up to 8 races from the 16, any of them.
*I need the calendar until August 9, please. If I don't receive them I'll put your drivers in random races.

Tomorrow is the last day to send flats and ratings. If you fail to send them tomorrow you'll miss the Round of DuQuoin.

Karlie Ellison calls out teammate Barnton over "stupid" manoeuvre.

After grabbing the pole, it was only 5 laps in that the impressive rookie Karlie Ellison got caught up in an accident, which involved the #3 truck barrel rolling spectacularly in turns 3 and 4. Even worse, it was her teammates error that got her caught up in the accident.

"I don't get it. She's nearly won FARC races and she's a damn good driver, but she came up three lanes!" said Karlie Ellison, "I figured she'd know better than to do something like that, but I must have been thinking wrong. We had a winning race truck today."

Team owner Henry Sylvester also stated his displeasure at Lucy Barnton, saying she has been "less than impressive" in her first few starts in the series, but has credited the lesser experienced Karlie Ellison and Mac Hanley. Despite Hanley's finishes being similar to those of Lucy Barnton's, Hanley ran up front for the majority of the Cathe 75.

Barnton came to her own defense, saying there was contact between Ellison and the #3 was what caused the incident, but admitted that she was being too aggressive in the opening laps.

Controversy at Illinois State Fairgrounds?

Despite Traci Norman keeping her points lead, it came at the expense of angering her teammates and likely most of the competition.
